If you are talking about the rewinder, it should screw on. If that does not work you will need to remove the top plate. If you have some issues doing that it would be better to have it serviced. Besides, these are quite old cameras thus it may well need a CLA as well.

SOURCE: The quick winder not working

That camera has several rubber bumpers and gaskets in the mirror mechanism that have a tendency to turn into sticky gooey sludge causing the levers in the shutter and mirror mechanisms to get sluggish.

The latch that tells it to stop winding is not dropping into proper position when you wind the camera. Try holding the film advance lever all the way to the front when winding it to allow the latch to drop into place before letting the lever to return.

The only permanent solution is to completely disassemble the camera to clean out the old goop and replace them with newer neoprene fittings. My suggestion would be to find a replacement body since the repair is probably going to cost between $80 to $90 and you can probably find a good used body for less than that.

SOURCE: pentax me super camera, not working wind on lever

The clip spring broke jambing the advance gear. by forcing, the tab on the advance shaft broke.
take or send your camera to a camera repair shop for an estimate cost to repair.
there are no new parts for this model so the repairs could be expensive.
there should be no cost for an estimate.

SOURCE: Pentex k1000 rewind knob unscrewed, shaft fell inside camera

first make a small hook on the end of a straightened paper clip. insert the hook and pull up rotating the hook as you pull up. being careful not to bend the spring near the hole. once the back door is opened check the rewind shaft, there should be a beveled edge on the collar of the shaft. rotate the shaft while pushing up. if no beveled edge on the shaft use the paper clip to push the spring out of the way while inserting the shaft. if it still will not return file a bevel on the collar of the shaft. I am assuming there is no film in the camera as the canister will prevent the shaft from falling in.

How do you load it

To open back cover lift knob on top of camera ( this knob has a small arm that unfolds - used in rewinding).
Once open you will see which side is the film side ( under this knob) and the take up side. On the film side raise the knob again in order to insert film case, the top of this should flip over later used to rewind film. with film trail out toward back of camera. Now push the knob down. Film should only be loaded one way so the knob can be lowered into film canister. Lower knob and Film canister is now secure.
Next thread film leader onto take up spool. Some times these have a slot , but most Just have the teeth that fit the film edge.thread the film into slot then unto teeth. You will need to use film advance arm (There should be an arm on the top opposite side of film knob) you would move that would advance film.
as you move this arm ( with cover open ) film holes should engage the teeth on bottom and top. ( if you can't advance after 1 or 2 advance arm swings) press take picture button ( releases springs).
continue until film is captured top and bottom. Use the film spool knob gently wind film back into canniester until snug don't over wind. Close cover, take a picture with lens cap on, repeat that. As you wind ,the film cartridge knob should rotate.
You are not wasting pictures film was designed for this waste.
you should know how many photos were on film 12/24/36 pictures.
you may have a knob to set to that number.
When your ready to remove film ,push silver button on bottom and use winder handle ,rotating until free and easy. Open cover mention earlier.
wow can't believe I remembered all that and hope that helps.

Singer 362 bobbin

It appears from the manual (see pages 9-10, which are on 11-12 of the pdf version) that it is necessary to disengage the hand wheel (loosen the center knob) with the bobbin winding lever all the way to the left, before putting the bobbin on the winder spindle. Put the bobbin on the spindle, then set the winding lever to the right position to engage the spindle drive. Do not tighten the hand wheel knob until after the bobbin is wound and the lever is moved back the left to permit bobbin removal.

If you are following these directions exactly, or you can't get the hand wheel knob loose, you have a mechanical problem to solve. You may need a stronger hand to loosen the knob, or something in the bobbin winder is bent, out of adjustment, or jammed with foreign material. If you are mechanically inclined, you may want to remove the top cover of the machine for inspection.

Bobbin winding

put screwdriver in bobbin shaft winder and open the slit a little. also loosen screws that hold winding attachment and move it forward so it just touches the belt then tighten screws. some cheap chinese bobbins slip on winders too.

I turned the stop motion knob in order to wind a bobbin and the knob fell off! I have tried to put in back together but now only the knob will move not the balance wheel. As as result the clutch will not...

There should be a washer that fits over the balance wheel, if you dont put that back on the machine wont work.
Check around and see if it fell off when you removed the knob, or check to see if it is stuck inside the knob.

The washer is about 1" in diameter with a couple little tabs on it.
It will only work when installed correctly so if at first you fail just turn the ****** over!

Trying to get the film removed and new film put in

to rewind the film back into the tin look underneath the camera you will see a button, press this, it will disengage the winding mechanism, looking on top of the camera to the left you see a knob. flip out the handle and start to turn this clockwise until you hear a click and the turning become a little easier. if it is hard to turn, ensure the button undeneath is still pushed in. once the film is wound back, lift this knob this should open the back door and of the camera and release the spent film can.

take your new film and take it out if its platic container. place the old film in the same container for safe keeping til it goes to processing.

place the new film into the camera on the left side with the brown tab of the film laying over the shutter window in the middle.
press in the winder knob to help hold the film container in place.
pull out the end of the film and guide it over the two wheels with teeth ensureing that the teeth fit into the perferation holes in the film.
slide the film across the camera to the roller on the oposite side. slightly wind the camera on help guide the film tab into the slot
once in the slot slowly wind the camera on ensuring that the film is running smoothly over the shutter gate.
now close the back of the camera which should click to lock.
now wind on the film until the winder leaver stops
check the ASA or IOS rating of your film from the box it came in.
and ensure this setting is correct on the setting wheel on the right.
if your camera has automatic film recognition then this is not necessary.
you are now ready to start taking pictures again.

Clutch Release Problem

You will need to remove the clutch release knob and the 3 eared positioner (the clutch) under that knob. Reposition the clutch on the shaft, put the knob back on and see if you can put the screw back in the hole. If it hits something, remove the knob, remove the clutch and turn it 180 degrees. This will reposition the ears. Put the clutch back on the shaft, put the knob back on the shaft and screw the screw into the hole. Test to be sure the knob releases the hand wheel to wind the bobbin.Be sure the thread is under the thread guide when you wind the bobbin and that there is a slight tension on it.

Film advance slipping?

This has happened with my pentax super program. All that was wrong is the the spool/winder was dirty. It needed to be cleaned. You open up the back of the camera. Stick something such as a small screw driver, just something to stop the film winder from turning. Now turn the top of the winder off while keeping the bottom part in place. Be very careful not to close the back of the camera while you do this. Once you have it out give it a clean with a soft cloth and then put it back in. I found it tricky to align it and get it back through the whole. But, that's me. After that it worked perfectly. Until the next time in a year or so it needed to be cleaned again. Hope this helps.
