Yes. Dewalt says the 18volt XRP battery is compatible with all Dewalt 18volt tools

Have a great day.

Dewalt how to take apart

Remove the 3 screws holding the foot on and remove it.
Slide the insulator and blade clamp lever off exposing the gearcase.
At this point you can remove the gearcase from the handle and can access the entire tool.
Removing the gear assembly will require removing the nut (#18) at the front of the gearcase (under a plastic cover) (best done with a 13mm socket on an impact driver) then removing the blade clamp assembly allowing the mechanism to slide out.

Broken blade in dewalt sawzall

Remove broken blade, install new one. These blades don't change themselves, unfortunately.

The blades come out

The piece that holds the blade in is held in place by a spring that sometimes breaks. eReplacementparts.com has a diagram and sells the springs for 78 cents.

Replacing blade assembly on a dewalt 18v Reciprocating Saw Sawzall

Remove the foot, remove the boot (and yellow lever), pull shaft out all the way (so you have more room to work with), remove the spring clip from the clamp block, remove the lever and ball, the clamp block will then slide off once the wire clip that wraps around it is removed.

DW938 only works when I bump the underside, forearm and for only moments.

could be quite a few things but it is obviously a loose connection in the electrical system, I would suggest going to dewaltservicenet.com and downloading a parts schematic before removing anything. I am thinking the battery or switch but try another battery first and look at the contacts for dirt or arcing. Let me know if you need more assistnace.

I have a DW938 and I cannot get the blade to lock into place seems like there is no lock at all.

Hi, If you look at the end where the blade goes in, on the right hand side (as holding it for use in your hands) you should see a yellow lever. First take out the battery, each and every time you change the blade. Lift up the lever, wear some gloves to protect your hand and pull the plade straight out. Push in the new blade with the teeth pointing down, and push the yellow lever down. You can replace the battery once you have completed the above. Hope that was of help to you.

Saw is binding up and not reciprocating.

Assuming you are cutting through material that your saw and blade are capable of cutting through - you either have a low or dying battery (if you have a bcakup battery - try that) - or you are using the wrong blade for the job - or it is dull. You can find battery replacements on Ebay. Blades are usually pretty cheap at the hardward store. Bring yours in and as someone in the hardware dept what they think about your blade. Good luck!
