The AccuDry Sensor on our Whirlpool Dryer is not working anymore. We can get the time dry to work just fine, but the sensor is not working. Is this something that I can fix on my own or do I need to have a repairman look at it?

SOURCE: I have a Whiilpool electric

the "moisture sensors " are located just to the right side below the lint filter housing. pop your hea inside and youll see 2 metal strips. thats them. with a scotchbrite pad, you can clean them off, usualy become fouled by dryer sheet residue. twice as long to dry couldalso be an indicator of a vent thats not completly free, kinked or becoming clogged .

Check your lint trap and the vent. make sure that there are no obstructions in either of them. Then take a look at your timer to since it is not stopping when you tell it too.

Make sure that the vents are cleaned to include outside. Where it hook on to the dryer make sure that the housing is cleaned also. That should take care of the problem. Thankyou and if you need more help let us know.

SOURCE: LG Dryer Sensor

The moisture sensor is in the lint filter. Remove 4 screws from inside the drum and you have the sensor attached by 2 wires. On my dryer I disconnected then reconnected these 2 wires, reassembled the lint trap and auto dry works fine again

It's probably the belt that turns the drum. They're easy to change and inexpensive too.
