Editing Motion Picture (video record)

I can't seem to find a way to edit or make a video recording, shorter. I'm trying to email a clip that is 15MB but can only email up to 10MB. So I need to make the clip shorter but it doesn't say anything in the manual about how to do it. Please advise. Thank you.

Import MTS to Final Cut Pro X-Convert Sony PJ30V 60p MTS to H.264 MOV for...

The Sony PJ30V has more compression options than your average camcorder. Most of its video is recorded using AVCHD compression, which is today's industry standard. The HDR-PJ30V has 32GB of internal flash memory and it can record Full HD video using 60p, 60i, or 24p frame rates. The PJ30V comes with the same version of Picture Motion Browser (PMB) software that shipped with the Sony HDR-CX700V, which we reviewed earlier this year. The new version of the software is nearly identical to previous versions of PMB, except version 5.5 does allow you to import and work with 60p and 24p clips (something that is essential for the HDR-PJ30V). One big downside, we noticed in terms of editing, is that the 60p clips recorded by the PJ30V don't always play nice with mac editing software. Final Cut Pro version 5.0, for example. And Now Final Cut Pro X is available could be Downloaded from the Mac App Store. However Log and Transfer was removed in the X version of Final Cut. So all Pro mts camcorder owners who use Final Cut are looking for HD Camcorder MTS Converter Software.

Here is the step-by-step guide to quickly use Final Mate for Mac to Import/Convert Sony PJ30V 1080/60p MTS to H.264 MOV for editing in FCP X on Mac.

Step 1. Capture native MTS from Sony PJ30V to Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac.
Run Aunsoft Final Mate for Mac as the fast Import AVCHD MTS to Final Cut Pro X on Mac, and drag the .mts files already backup all mts recordings from Sony PJ30V to your computer, and can browse the .mts video path and the software will automatically show your AVCHD clips in "Resource Tab".

Step 2. Create a Movie for combine and convert Sony PJ30V AVCHD MTS 1080p footage.
Just select one or multiple video files you would like to convert and then drag and drop them to Movie tab. HOW TO DO A VIDEO CLIP

Make sure your camera has video capability.

Access the options menu and see if you can set it to record with audio.

Click the shutter once to record, click it again to end the recording.

Setting a timer may be a good idea too.

Once youre done, upload them onto your computer, and you're done.

Is editing needed?

VX2100 record settings for slow motion playback when editing

you can't ! you have to slow you footage afterwards.
Anyway, try to record with a slow speed shutter (1/30th of a second or less) to fluidify your images but if you want to slow down your footage, it's probably because the scene is "fast" and this doesn't could help you anyway !!!

I have a VX2100 and am interested to know what the best record settings are if you plan to do slow motion playback when editing.

There is no ONE setting for the three areas you stated, However, if you want the object/event/action seen in slow motion you can among other things: A) Over crank the recording speed during recording. B) Record at standard speed and slow the motion in editing. C) Add more ram and upgrade your NLE and compatible video card.
What ever you decide, make sure you have plenty of light facing the subject if possible.
