Can't turn closed caption off on our Samsung Series 7000 LED TV

Make sure it isn't your cable or satellite TV service making the captions, as closed captions on your TV are separate from the ones produced by your service provider. If it isn't your cable/ satellite, open the TV menu and find the Audio/Visual properties section of the menu (audio and visual might be separate sections), and find the closed captions or CC options menu. When you do just change the setting from whatever it is on, to off. If your TV remote is fancier than mine (which it probably is), their could possibly be a closed caption button on the remote for easy access. In this case just push the button and change what you need to.

Can't turn off the closed captioning

I had the same problem. Okay, First get the TV remote. not a cable box remote. Next, switch the input to an Analog input. (TV or input one if you have the RC red, white and yellow hook up. or, just hook up the coax cable straight to the TV..
Now, use the TV remote to operate the closed caption. It will work like it should.\
Briefly, closed caption works on the TV with a straight hook up to the TV. It will not work with a cable box.

hi,
For switching off the closed caption option do the following.

1. Press CC on the remote.
• This will present the Closed Caption information display.

2. Press CC while the Closed Caption information is
still on the screen.
• Press repeatedly until you select the desired closed
caption service as OFF.

Close captioning on HDMI

The TV will not display closed caption with HDMI input. It must either over-the-air (antenna) or composite input for the TV to manage CC.

To get CC with HDMI from your Comcast DVR, you need to configure the cable box. Instructions can be found here:
http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/How_to_use_a_Motorola_DVR/Setup

If you want CC all of the time, this works well. But since you must power-off the cable box to change the setting, switching CC on and off is a real pain.

Your set-up is similar to mine (Sharp Aquos 46" and Comcast DVR). I have the composite output from the cable box going to a DVD-recorder and on to the TV. Whenever I need CC (usually to catch some mumbled dialog), I just rewind the DVR, and switch the TV input to the composite input. Then I switch back to HDMI to continue watching in HD.

How can I active the subtitle and caption for tv programs

My Sharp TV manual says there should be a "CC" button near the upper right corner of your remote control. Keep pressing the button to go through the different options.
Not every TV program has closed caption, so it may not every time.

I hope I answered your question. Please rate me. :)

Closed caption Problem

If the closed caption setting is set to off on the tv then it would definitely be coming out of your cable box. Usually the Cable box will have the setting in the menu's if not i would definily call your cable company and have them switch your settings for you

Turn off closed caption on input(component) on Sharp Aquos 42"

I have a Sharp Aquos 46" and go a Comcast HD receiver as well, and had the same problem turning off the Closed Captioning. I order to turn it off you need to go into the box user setting by (starting w/ the cable box and tv on) pressing the power button for the cable box then the menu button for the cable box. This will open up the user settings menu. Just toggle CLOSED CAPTION to DISABLED.
