SAMSUNG LE32R41BD We were watching tthe TV and the picture suddenly disappeared. We have tried switching it off from the mains and turning back on after a period of time. But we still have no picture but sound and changing channels is functioning perfectly. The screen changes from black to light blue when we switch it on but we cannot get a picture. QUESTION: Is it possible that the back-light tube has expired?

Hi Ralph, you have a bad tcon board or a bad panel, this model had a lot of both panel and tcon issue, finding a board may be difficult and expensive.

Back - light problem. Check and replace damaged component/s at its back-light inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. It will be best to replace the inverter board as card basis.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. If so; the main board should be replaced. To some models of sets, all these section circuit will be integrated at its main board. If this is the case, you have to replace the main board.

Most likely a problem with the products manual control panel on the tv. one or more of the buttons are either stuck or corrupted. Find this part and you can fix the set.

Change input device to some other like a DVD player and see.
Switch off TV, switch off power, remove plug and wait for 48 hours and retry.
If problem persists, call in a qualified service technician.

you may have a bad Y sustain board.

I'm having the same issue. I'll be watching the television an all the sudden the screen goes black/turns off. I turn it off and back on again and picture comes back on. It doesnt seem to have any consistency..
