The problem is in the drain system as what error code OE stands for.The grinding noise is coming from the drain pump. Loose change, hair pins and the likes can get into the pump filter and sometimes into the pump impeller causing a grinding noise during the spin cycle because the pump works while the machine is spinning. The pump impeller may also be broken causing the grinding noise.
Disconnect power then open the filter door on the bottom left of the cabinet.
Remove the drain plug and drain the water out completely into a shallow basin or the likes. Once drained, lay a piece of towel under the filter then turn the filter knob counterclockwise and remove it. Clean the filter and reach in the pump impeller to check it if blocked or broken. If cleaning the filter does not solve the problem, you need to access the drain pump assembly and check the pump particularly the impeller thoroughly. LG Front-Load Washer Drain Pump Access
from my adventure;
Are you getting the "OE" message? This seems to be a common problem with these machines based on all the posts I've seen. I had a similar issue and I am down to replacing the main drain water pump. Have you been cleaning the filter at the bottom of the machine regularly (our problem started here)? Are you using "low sudsing" soap? Are you following LG's suggestions for how much soap to use? and hopefully . . . . is it still under warranty? There are a lot of good posts here with training manuals and everything. Good luck. didn't answer the question did I?
Is the OE message coming on? -> (YES) -> *** TURN OFF AND UNPLUG MACHINE 120vac AND WATER DON'T MIX EVER! ** a) Drain via little black hose in front.b) Remove filter(big black round thing next to drain hose) and clean within an inch of its life. Take a flash light and shine in the hole to see if anything is stuck in the baffle (good choice of names), if so remove the object carefully so as not to tear the rubber. c) with a wet towel (you'll have some in front of you by now) clean the filter receptacle of all the crud. d) PRAY!! e) plug machine back in it should make it's happy sound. f) pick a short rinse/spin cycle (keep praying) and push "go". If all goes well it will fill do some agitating and then start to drain. If it drains your done. I'll be over with my clothes as I am waiting for parts to fix my drain. I didn't pray hard enough I guess. If (NO) -> Sensor may be bad but I've not seen anyone with the drain not working and the OE not lit. Keep trolling here you'll find something. Cheers Myles

If you have an LG, Kenmore, Samsung or Whirlpool Front Load Washer that is draining and then repeats drain cycle several times before throwing an OE error, by all means take the time to clean everything including the filter. ESPECIALLY DISASSEMBLE the Pressure switch small hose and level at the rear in order to clean it!
When very dirty, it will allow the water level to be properly sensed but might not empty the water out thoroughly, causing a looped drain cycle!
There you go, likely just saved a few DIY'ers some major money & time! Wish the repair manuals would point out this possibility..
The code OE is a draining error. The washer has sensed that the water has not completely drained all of the water within 10 minutes and will display this error code. The grinding noise you are describing is most likely a failed drain pump or clogged with foreign debris.
If you are unable to resolve the issue by cleaning, I would recommend replacing the drain pump.
