I have a tomtom eclipse n14644. I downloaded the map and everything was ok then the next day I connected it to the computer at it doesn't recognize it. It shows "device not connected". Bad cord?

These error's occur when units have cracked maps put on them.
When you update your tomtom device it will replace the cracked file with the original tomtom file.

these units on ebay are mainly refurbished units even tho they are in 'sealed' packaging, they opened your box, put cracked maps and sell the device for more then what they have paid for it.

Best to take it back to person you purchased it from.

avoid tomtom products from ebay, most of them have cracked maps.

THE "ONE" IS THE MODEL TYPE, IT HAS VARIOUS "VERSIONS" SHOWN AS "V2" V3" ECT THINK THE N14644 IS NOT A MODEL MAYBE A SERIAL NUMBER

If you know where the backup is stored in your computer, right click on it and copy it. plug in the tomtom, then you can close the tomtom program when it autostarts on plugin, then go to my computer and right click and open the tomtom manually like a normal usb device. Find the same map file in the tomtom and right click and paste your copy of your backup. Make sure you copy the file on the tomtom to a folder somewhere first in case there's any kind of incompatability and you have to revert back to how it is now. Hope this helps
