I have green and yellow dots that float around and wave on the screen of my TV. I have had the TV for a year and a half when the problem started. I had a technician come out and he did not know what was causing the problem. He reset the TV with a code that he typed on the remote. The problem went away for a month and a half, but now it is back. Do you know what is wrong with the TV or do you know the code so that I can try the reset again.

Your TV needs demagnetizing. All tv repairmen have a demagnetizing coil to clear up the pictures on CRT tube televisions. It only takes about 10 seconds by waving the coil around and around in the front of the tube with the tv is on. Another possiblity (without my looking at the screen) is that there is a capacitor that filters the 200 volts to the socket of the tube that could be bad. However, it it is likely to need demagnetizing.
Tv have convergence problems,it dead.Colors lines R,G,B don't aligned.The tv convergence board is dead.The 2 STK convergence ICS and some or all it resistors are dead,these parts must be replaced to solved the tv pictures covergence problems.The shop,will cost u $300-350 for parts and labors.

This television set, as well as most rear-projections, is prone to convergence driver problems. There are two large chips (STK392-110's) in the TV that need to be replaced, as well as some resistors that are likely damaged as well. Any competent TV repair shops should be able to repair this TV for 200-300 dollars. It is important to note that if the back of the TV is taken off without the proper prep., the Digital input (DVI) will be disabled permanently.
The convergence is out . There are big ICs in the tv that go bad or get bad solder connections, that control each CRT to focus the picture one on top of the other. DO NOT move or try to adjust lens. The fluid is a coolant like in your car to keep the tubes cool.
I believe what you have is a convergence problem and it is usually caused by two Integrated Circuits going bad which also opens up one or two resistors associated with them. Replacing the Convergence Ic'S - (Ik04 & Ik05) and Resistor Rk62 a 1.8 Ohm .5w. Metal Film type should take care of the problem. As far as costs involved, I would guess about $350-$425 to get repaired. With it only being about 4 years old, it should have that many more years left of good use for you.
