I have a Kenmore elite washing machine. There appear a F20 code. What does it mean? If its trouble, how do I correct it? Thanks.

Code F20 also stands for pressure switch.

You have a incomplete model number so I am not sure if this is the correct switch.

This is just inside the top cover, right hand corner.

I know that it can be very frustrating when dealing with error codes so i will do my best to try to help you thru this ok?
ok well first the f20 error code is a no water code meaning that the machine may not be getting any water into the machine or very little and after 6 minutes the error code will be shown on the display .
So what do u need to do is this
f you have NO water in the wash tub, check the following:

- Inlet water valve may be clogged. Clean inlet screens if necessary.
- Make sure water taps are on.
- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

If you HAVE water filling the wash tub, check the following:

The F20 error code means; no water was detected entering washer or pressure switch trip was not detected after 6 minutes

Many times that is caused by a blockage a pinched fill hose,or the filter screen on back of washer where hoses attach to are clogged

This code is tricky to troubleshoot, so jsrock516 advices to eliminate the easy common sense items first

F20= flow meter, they sense the 'flow', if no flow after a certain amount of time it errs out, replace the sensor, it is erratic. Tell your tech he can replace it or get a 'recall'

Error F 20 means "No Water Detect" error. It is an indication that you either have no water coming into the washer, or very little water at all. If the pressure switch has not tripped after 6 minutes, the error code is displayed.

You'll need to check for the following--

1- Check the Inlet water valve if it is clogged.
2- Make sure water taps are working fine.
3- Check inlet hoses for kinks or clogs.

in my fixing f 20 needs a new cpu main board in the top washer middle back side

F20 ERROR CODE ON A KENMORE HE2T FRONT LOAD WASHER.THE FIX FOR ME WAS TO REPLACE THE TUBE THAT RUNS FROM THE PRESSURE SWITCH TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WASHER.YOU MUST REMOVE THE TOP AND BACK COVERS OF THE MACHINE(EASY).REPLACED TUBE WITH3/16 INCH CLEAR TUBE.THE ORINGINAL TUBE HAD A PIN HOLE FROM RUBBING AGINST THE SIDE OF THE MACHINE AFTER 5 YEARS OF USE.THIS COST UNDER $10 DOLLARS TO FIX. NO SERVICE GUY=MORE BEER MONEY GOOD LUCK.
