yes replace the seal, this type of spotting that forms as rust color occurs on "ferritic" stainless steel. Simply put there exists iron in the alloy and the surface needs to be pacified. Use DeBruce Polish to correct the problem. Non-toxic and odor-less containing NO ACID, this TRUE MULTI-SURFACE CLEANER is the best product for stainless steel AND glass/ceramic cook tops. Water leaking from whirlpool gold refrigerator

When refrigerators leak water it usally is a sign that the defrost drain found inside the rear of freezer and behind the rear panel of freezer has become clogged with ice or gunk. Sometimes the pan below refrigerator has a crack and allows water to leak onto floor. Please click here=> Leaking Refrigerators Just What may Be HappeningYou will at times see water build up inside freezer bottom especially on bottom freezer refrigerators. This will take a little reading over to understand what may be happening. Click Here=> Leaking Refrigerators

GE Profile leaking onto floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section behind the cover underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

Water pools at bottom of freezer, freezes and water leaks out

Hello, this sounds like you have a blockage in the drain tube, remove bottom shelf from fridge and remove the styrofoam..you may see ice build up...melt ice with hair dryer/heat gun...you will see a pan below evaporator...melt ice in pan...dry water up in pan with paper towel...now you should see a hole in pan that leads to drain tube...pour some hot water in pan..wait a couple minutes..mop up water and repeat this step 2-3 times....once you have done this find some flexible curatain wire or electrical wire..poke down the hole until you see the water drain..now it is clear..put back panel back and you are good to go. The reason you see water in the Freezer is because the water has been leaking into the freezer instead of running into the drain hole...Please feel free to comment again if you need any further assistance. Model # TBX18TRBR large puddling leak on floor, think has to do with defroster messing up?? A GE refrigator serial # HG539639

I've got the same fridge with the same problem (believe it or not it was manufactured in 1992 so it's a wonder it's still working).

I also have been able to narrow the problem down to a defrost issue. It appears as the coils are defrosted, the leaking water drains down through the inside of the fridge, pools in the bottom of the fridge (under the bottom drawers), then when that area is full it runs out onto the floor.

I'm still troubleshooting and will post back here within a week with my results.

My ge dishwasher will drain but after a few hours

Could be a crack in the tub, bad seal at the pump if water is leaking out onto the floor. If water is pooling inside the DW then a bad water control valve allowing water to leak back into the tub from the source.

10 yr old GE side by side: freezer is leaking

Your drain is frozen up and so every time unit goes into defrost the water refreezes in the freezer's bottom. You either have to shut fridge off completely and let it dethaw or use hot water and an ice pick to hurry up the process. The drain is located in the very back of freezer. You will have to pull out the bottom drawer to see it. Good luck

Samsung twin door fridge water leaking onto floor

I have a Samsung side by side - model RS253BAWW.

Water was leaking onto floor from main refrigerator, not freezer. It was determined to be a blocked defrost drain.

The repair technician removed the trays and food from fridge, remove the screws from the panel at back, disconnected everything and remove panel.
The stainless tray at bottom of fridge as well as panel itself had solid ice blockage.

He placed panel in sink and used something similar to a blow dryer with narrow hose on it to defrost both the panel and drain in fridge. Took him maybe 15 minutes and charged $99 total for the visit.

In future I will do this myself now that I know how but thought it may be useful information to others who are having similar problems.

Water leaking - GE Profile Refrigerator, Model: TPX21PRX

Check to see if the drain at the bottom of your freezer is plugged. When the refrigerator goes on defrost, the water has to go somewhere. Look below the coils in the freezer section and see if there is ice in the drain.
