According to the user manual, there were only drivers to support Windows 2000 and Windows XP any way, so no great loss.

The camera is probably supported by default in Windows 7.

To find out if this is the case, you should try using Picasa to download the pictures off of your camera.

Picasa is a free download from Google and has many cutting-edge features for picture management. I think that you'll like it.

Download Picasa from their web site (click here) to your Desktop
Once the Picasa file has completed downloading, Open the file and follow the directions displayed.
Once you have Picasa installed, connect your Olympus camera. Picasa will recognize that you have connected the camera and ask you how you want to proceed.
Have Picasa copy the images from your camera
You can then use Picasa to handle the photos from your camera.

A few things can be happening:

1. You have a DVD but only a CD Drive
2. The DVD is no good
3. Your drive is not working

Driver's do not factor in on whether a CD/DVD can be seen or not. It is most likely a media issue. Put the Windows 7 CD into another machine and see if that machine can read it.

My daughter has a C551 NR running vista. The CD\DVD Rom stop working in Vista so I used an external CD drive to install Windows 7, works great. . I ordered a new drive upon HP recommendation 435778-001....

should recognize the cd rom /dvd unit automatically
lower picture is of the c300 cd unit
anything look different from the original ............lowest picture

* Open the Pictures section of your Libraries
* Open the CD drive in a separate window
* Drag the desired pictures from the CD Drive to Pictures

to download the driver for windows 7 32 bits.

Download the driver, save it in desktop and double click it to install the printer driver.

Sounds like you need to locate the proper driver for your CD drive. The windows XP driver won't work with Windows 7.

If your computer is running a current operating system, such as Windows XP/Vista/7 or Mac OS X, there is no driver available for this camera to communicate directly. The best thing to do is to purchase ($10 - $15) a USB card reader that can read the CF card from your camera. There are programs 'built in' to current Windows and Mac OSs that can read the pictures from the card and load them directly into your computer.
