I have the Toshiba TV Model # 32AV502R. I lost my user gaide, I input my DVD player in the TV but I forgot how to get to the channel that I can watch DVD. Can anyone help?

Check and replace its tuner. It is faulty.

Most DVD players are connected to one of the rear audio/video inputs--hook to that input and select it on the TV--then hit play and if connected correctly you will see the movie.

The short answer is "yes", but it really depends on your TV having more than one input.

You would put a cable splitter (see Google images) on the wire that comes out of the wall. One of the OUT connections would be to the cable box, and the other would go directly to your Toshiba unit.

Depending on the outputs of your cable box, and the inputs of your TV, each unit would be connected to a TV input either by cable or video connections. You would then switch back and forth between the input from the cable box - when you wanted to watch live, digital TV - or the Toshiba when you wanted to set up/watch recordings.

Firstly, please make sure you have connected the SCART cable correctly. This should be connected to a SCART OUT socket on the DVD player to one of the SCART IN or EXT sockets on the rear of the TV.

If you have correctly connected the SCART cable the TV should automatically switch to the AV channel when you switch the DVD player power on or insert a disc.

Switch your TV on, then switch the DVD player off and then on again. If the TV does not change to the AV channel you may have the SCART cable connected incorrectly.

Not all TVs automatically switch to the AV channel when the AV device is switched on. On some TVs the AV input is on channel 0 or 99. On other TVs the AV input is not assigned to a specific channel. On these TVs you need to look for a button marked "AV", "INPUT" or "SOURCE" - either on the TV remote or on the buttons on the front of the TV. The easiest way to do this is to insert a disk into the DVD player and start it playing. Then press the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" button (whichever one you have) repeatedly until you find the signal from the DVD player.

Please check your connections and try using the "AV" "INPUT" or "SOURCE" buttons. If you are still unable to watch your DVD player, please post back with the following information:

1. Model number of the Bush TV
2. Brand and model number of the DVD player
3. If you are using any remote other than the ones supplied with the TV or DVD player, the brand and model number of the remote.

I will then be able to tell you exactly how it should be connected and which buttons (if any) you need to press to access the AV channel.

That particular TV has both "component video" and standard video inputs. The DVD player might have a component video output (it will be three separate connectors of three different colors.) You will need a component video patch cable available at most electronics stores. If your DVD player doesn't have that input then use the standard video connector, yellow wire connects the video out on the DVD player to the Video input on the TV. The red and white wires are the left and right stereo audio connections they also make a cable for that. It will be color coded so make sure you match the codes from the output to the input on the TV. This set has two video inputs, you will get your best resolution if you use them instead of a "channel" input.

You will need the remote to select the video 1 or video 2 inputs. You can connect your DVD player and your game at the same time. Just use video 1 for the DVD and video 2 for the game. They require the yellow, red and white connector cables. Just follow the color code and match the colors with the jacks on the TV and other units. There is actually a third video input Video 3 behind the little door on the front panel. That would be convenient for the game if you want to remove it easily when not in use.

Push the menu button on the remote (big button in the middle) go to the video function and select either Video 1 for your DVD, Video 2 or 3 for your game.

If the TV doesn't have AV input jacks, you'll need an RF converter so you can watch the DVD player on channel 3 or 4. You can find them at Radio Shack, Wal-Mart, Home Depot and most places that sell TVs for around $15. Connect the audio and video from the DVD player to the inputs on the converter, and the converter's output to the TV antenna jack. Set the TV to whichever channel the converter is set for (3 or 4, with a switch on the converter so you can choose) and you'll be in business.

These are the codes printed in the owners manual for your dvd/vcr player.If they do not work you will have to contact Emerson and ask them for help getting the code. The contact number should have come with the instructions for the remote. Just give them the model number of you remote and the units model number and they should be able to help you.
