Waste water hoses of washing machine and dishwasher are both running into the same waste water pipe under the sink. When washing machine runs water is being "pushed" into the dishwasher. This sets off the aqua stop.
Any Idea of how to switch off the aqua stop without calling an engineer??
Thanks a lot for your help.

Here in Thailand the washing machines have no drain pump and the drain hose must be run at floor level.
If you live in the UK or USA for example, the machine will most likely have a pumped discharge and the hose is normally hooked into a standpipe behind the machine
Check out You Tube for further information regarding under sink plumbing How do install freestanding dishwasher or washing machine
Try throttling back (reducing the water flow) the valve that feeds the machine. With the sink tap/faucet running the pressure into the dishwasher is reduced. Is the feed pipe kinked or blocked in some way as there might be a sensor in the machine that doesn't like it when water is "jetted" in under pressure. It would act like putting your thumb over the end of a hose when washing a car.
looks to me like as if the direction of the hose is incorrect. Check to see if there is a direction of flow arrow on the hose and point that arrow away from the tap towards the machine.
Empty your food waste disposal
unit if your dishwasher's hooked up to one. If it's not empty, the old
food inside it will back water up into your machine. Check that your
sink trap isn't blocked by unscrewing it from the base of your sink if
you don't have a food waste disposal unit. Make sure your dishwasher or
any other appliances connected to it are not running when you do so.
Incomplete Cycle
You may have opened your
dishwasher's door mid-cycle before it's had a chance to drain. Check the
progress indicator on your machine's control panel. The structure of
this will differ depending on which Frigidaire model you're using, but
it should show the point your machine has reached in its cycle. If this
is the cause of the problem, close your dishwasher's door and let it
finish.
Drainage Pipe
Inspect the drain pipe that runs
from your machine to your waste disposal unit or sink. If this is
kinked or has been squashed under another appliance or a base unit, the
waste water inside your dishwasher will be unable to escape. Check that
water can flow through your waste pipe freely.
Filter
Remove the bottom shelf from
inside your machine and take out the plate covering the filter area. If
you don't rinse your plates before you put them into your washer, food
debris could block your filter and stop water from reaching your
drainage pipe. You can unblock your filter with your fingers. Turn off
your machine's power before you attempt to do so.
I had a similar problem with a washing machine, until I replumbed my waste pipes. My Washing Machine waste pipe was attached to the down pipe just under the sink bowl. I found that the U bend trap was too high and the water level in the U-bend was at the same level as the Washing machine waste pipe was attached. So we has syphoning back into the washing machine. I moved the U bend trap down by 3 inches 7 cm, so now the water leaves the washing machine falls the 3 inches to the water level of the U bend. We now have no more syphoning back into the washing machine.
dishwasher drain enters sewer system tapped into waste pipe below kitchen sink
water flowing from kitchen sink passes the opening of the dishwasher pipe
If the dishwasher hose does not loop up higher than the kitchen sink before going down to the bottom of the dishwasher water may flow downhill through the dishwasher drain into the dishwasher
ensure the dishwasher drain hose is screwed to the underside of the kitchen counter, to provide a stop to water flow.
The installation instructions suggest this
but often the dishwasher is at the end of its 'stretch'
and the installer assumes looping is just to use up excess hose, and doesnt.
an extension drain hose is available at most appliance stores
Had a similar problem (flashing lights 1 and 2). Drained the machine by diconnecting the outlet hose and using a shallow bowl on the floor. Removed and cleaned filters. Forced clean water through by using a garden hose pipe(you can only do this one way, you cannot force water down the outlet pipe). Removed and cleaned the pump (you have to do this from under the machine but easy enough). Finally ensuring the waste trap under the sink was clear. Bingo!! No parts, no expensive engineer.
This normally shows blockage in hose , assuming you have checked and cleaned filter.Glass sherd was the problem with mine , first time then second was block outlet hose cause by backup of garb.Glass was in system at least 4 months before it moved in outlet hose and stopped full drainage.
There are 2 possible problems here.
1. If your waste pipe is connect under the sink and uses the sinks waste as a drain it could be that water from the sink (or dishwasher if also fitted) is entering the machine via the waste. This can be cured by ensuring that the washing machine waste hose is hooked up higher than the connection under the sink.
2. It could be that the washing machine inlet valve need replacing. After time, or if bits of dirt enter them they can let water seep through.
This is easily identified by turning off the water supply where the hoses are connected to. If the machine fills up then you know it is entering via the waste hose - if it doesn't then you know its one of the valves.
If it is a valve they are available from us at www.ransomspares.co.uk
