What exactly do you want to reset?
There is a master reset that resets all default phone settings
except for the lifetime timer:
There is also a Master clear that erases all information you have entered (including address book and calendar entries)
and content you have downloaded (including photos and sounds) stored in your phone’s memory. After you erase the information, you can’t recover it. It clears all settings and entries you made except SIM card information, erases downloaded pictures and sound files, and resets all options except for the lifetime timer:
What is the problem that you are trying to solve with the reset?
What is flashing?

I know how to do a master reset but the A1200 that I was trying to reset did not accept all the typical codes that works on most A1200. I had problems with my texting capabilities and my phone book memory. The were stalled and running in loops which then stifled other applications as well. With a lot of research I downloaded the neccessary applications and flashed my phone to comepletely remove the old OS and install a new OS. By rebooting the phone I not only stopped the stalling, I was also able to fix the textig problem that I had since I purchased the phone.
Flashing can be risky. You could turn your phone into a brick if you are not careful and patient. I don't recommend flashing a phone every time you have a problem with it but I tried everything; completely removing the battery and leaving it alone for days, master reset, I even physically took the phone apart. Nothing worked so flashing was my last resort.
