My canon powershot s3 IS is taking really dark pictures. The only decent pictures I can take with it are outside in sunlight. Pics indoors come out dark and grainy. I flip up the flash, but most of the time the flash doesn't go off, like there is enough light. And then when it does go off, the picture is way too bright. Help please!!

This is not an answer. The S3 normally does not produce dark pictures, and I have seen this issue before. It has to do with a setting somewhere on that camera that needs to be adjusted. I wish I knew what that setting was/is as my wife's camera has recently started doing this ...

Automatic settings are stuck probably due to moisture. Too expensive to fix, get another camera. Try ebay. Price start at $15 to $395 refurbished - new. And free shipping. Repairs start at $50-75 just to take a look inside.
The image in the LCD monitor will darkn in strong SUNLIGHT. This is normal, is not constitute a badfunction. This iamge will not recorded when shooting still photos, but it will be recorded when shooting movies.Read your owner manual section troubleshooting God bless you
I have a similar problem with my Canon S3 IS. Dark/black LCD in
Shooting mode. However, I can view my existing photos in Display mode.
I was about to spend money to get a Panasonic TZ5. Somehow I bumped
