Question about Sennheiser Audio Players & Recorders

2 Answers

Where can I obtain replacement ear pads for my sennheiser HD 440 11 headphones . These are simple discs of about 5mm thick acoustic foam held in the centre on a short spiked projection of the headphone plastic moulding. The originals just fell to pieces after many years of non use. Otherwise the headphomes work well if a bit uncomfortable without the foam .

SOURCE: Sansui SH-15 Headphones - need foam ear pad cups - Toronto

Those headphones (I have a pair - they are rather nice, aren't they?) are over 30 years old and I doubt you'd be able to find any 'official' replacement pads. My suggestion would be to check out cheap headphones with the same sized pads and cannibalise them. If you do find any replacement pads specifically for the SH-15's, then I would also be buying a lottery ticket and maybe bet on a few horses, because you would have to be one lucky person.

Good luck!

SOURCE: ear pad replacement instructions for Sony MDR-V6 Headphones

Hello to all who have exhausted all avenues seeking instructions on how to remove and replace Ear Pads on Sony MDR-V6 Headphones.... All that is required is a little patience maybe some fingernails... The Pads simply slip on and off by pinching ends of cuff that is nearest the plastic backing of The Headphones by pulling them from their seat/flange .. i found it easiest to just roll the cuff off using my thumb w/rolling motion away from the plastic backing/housing of the headphones.. no tools required.. they are installed exactally like one would place a tire on a rim.. exact same motion is required as when removing a tire.. i can give no better illustruction than comparrison to tire removal and replacement. Be careful to make sure one end in completely set deeply into one side before attempting to pull opposing side over its side/flange..start on top and work way around to bottom or vise versa.. To get an idea of what you are attempting to do take a close look at new headphone pad rear and you will see the small flap of leather on rear .. there is a small overlap that fits perfectly over the flange.. dont try to force it as you may tear them...

SOURCE: how much does it cost to replace pads for my headphones

I just removed mine, soaked them in rubbing alcohol and now they are sterile and ready to use again. Oh, I forgot to mention they are now devoid of that sweat-like animal odor and garden soil - I am an avid gardener and long distance runner living in a hot, humid climate. You can also replace any damaged or worn out foam with similar products found in old cushions etc.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: I have Sennheiser HD 570

That part isn't available from Sennheiser. But they are pretty maintainable, if you're good with mechanical things, and if you can come up with another set of the same headphones for parts.
If you've already replaced your headphones and want to rid yourself of the broken 570's, I'm looking for a set to scrounge for parts.

How to replace ear cushion on bose QC 3 headphone

The ear cushions are held on the earcup with six snap fasteners, three on each side. To remove the ear cushion, simply pull it away from the earcup carefully so that you do not break the plastic snap tabs.

It should not be necessary to pry the ear cushion off with a sharp object, but if you do, be careful. There is also a thin gasket seal between the earcup and the ear cushion, take care not to damage it.

If you need to replace the ear cushions with new ones, they are available from Bose for $35/pair.

I've noticed that replacement inner foam(that covers the speakers) and earpads are available for my Sennheiser HD 570 Headphones; how do i get the old ones off? Thanks

The ear padding is attached to and held in place by a plastic ring that fits into the speaker mount. Gently pull the ear padding outward so you can see the ring, then slip a flathead screwdriver or other object in (just a bit, you don't want to poke the speaker inside). Gently pry up , sliding your pry-bar along, and the pad should pop out quite easily.

They're very easy to open. You can pull the outer pads off by squeezing them at the bottom edge.
Inside, you can prize the speaker plate off the white plastic body with your fingers, and access the connectors if you need to.
The headphones all just clip back together.
Mine just stopped working in the right ear. I fixed them in about five minutes.
