Printer print blue instead of black

Never use aftermarket cartridges with your Canon Pixma ip5200 inkjet photo printer.

If your cartridge leaks fluid when out, then that's not a good sign.

Try to return for a refund if you just got it.

Option 1 - when printing, go to printer settings and select 'Plain Paper' as the Media Type. If any other paper type is selected, color ink will be used to create black. The pigment black ink will only be used when printing on plain paper. Check the box for 'Grayscale Printing'. If either 'Borderless Printing' or 'Duplex Printing' are enabled from the Page Setup tab, grayscale will be created using a combination of the color (dye) inks to prevent smearing.
I tried this once myself, but the result seemed to be useless for printing photographs.

The inner cover is the part where the CD print tray goes. When you look at the front of the printer you should see CANON written above the output paper tray - just like in the picture next to you post. If you can't see the word - just fold up the flap.

Change your setting to plain paper and normal quality.
This printer uses the small black for photos and high qau;ity papers.
Do this and you should be good to go.

Visited a Canon Agent, they believe my printer might need a new print head.

Try removing all ink bins except black then you won't have any problems. You should also be able to go into your printer settings and select "Black and White" or "No Color" and it will print ok. Removing the ink trays is the easiest way though.

Sounds like your print head went bad. You will have to buy another one.

Cartridges may give a very slow printing if internally damaged, or :
When using colored paper in the all-in-one, printing or copying is slow.This issue is a result of the automatic paper type sensor misreading the colored paper as photo paper. The print out takes longer because the unit is printing in Best mode instead of Normal mode.

1. Click Start , point to Settings , and then click Control Panel .
2. Double-click Printers and Faxes .
3. Right-click the appropriate all-in-one, and then click Printing Preferences .
4. Click the Paper/Quality tab and under Type is: select Plain Paper . This sets the default paper type setting to Plain Paper.

Well, first off, are the alignment, and nozzle check sheets looking good? If not, then work on that. If so, then we have a problem. Try creating a test sheet in Word. Make red, yellow blue & black text and see if anything else prints wrong. Get back to me!
