This is a common problem on the HP #02 (USA) ink printers, such as C7280, C7250, C6180, and so on. Try clenaing the printer pick up roller. This video explains it:

SOURCE: I have installed the HP

I experienced the same problem on a HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-one printer. The problem was that the light-blue plastic piece, which covers half of the printing paper tray, had gotten out of alignment with the gray piece which covers the other half of the paper stack. Pull the blue plastic tray out and align it properly.

SOURCE: I cannot print C5 envelopes on HP C7280

In page setup manage custom paper sizes. Enter the size of the envelope and save it. In print dialogue box you can find the C5 envelop. Paper size: defined by driver. This should work

SOURCE: HP Photosmart C7280. Keeps asking to put paper in

When you get that message, ususally the rollers that pick up the paper have stuff on them that's made them slick. This video shows how to clean the rollers (and some other steps as well).

Paper jams with hp C7280

Here are the specs for paper for that printer. It's not listed on the HP website the same as you've listed it.

Here's a video about how to solve jams on that printer. If the paper doesn't meet specs, the video won't help.

HP Photosmart C7280 All in One Printer. I am trying to print on new check paper, but it just keeps running it through and then prints on the regular white paper. Any quick fixes?

Check the preferences setting in your Printer Dialogue box (the pop-up that comes up when you attempt to print... the paper settings may be set to standard, which you can modify...

A quick-fix is also to simply print to plain paper, place the newly-printed form in the scanner, and press "copy" on the printer itself (the physical button, not from Windows), with the check paper loaded (place in just one sheet, as not to waste ink)

Hope this helps!

PHOTOSMART C7280 PAPER JAM, WE CANNOT GET TO THE PAPER

If you read the troubleshooting section about paper jams (in the book) you will see that you clear paper jams by unclipping the duplexer at the back of the printer. It has two quick-release buttons on the sides - just push them in, it pops out and you can clear it. My 85-year-old mother had the same problem.

My printer The HP C7280 does not feed the paper, what can I do?

you can try to remove the rubber roller that pulls the paper into the printer. Once removed clean it with some rubber renew. If it is very smooth and does not have any texture left in the rubber, the rollers will have to be replaced.

Paper feed

You can try a reset on the printer using the # and the number 6,holding them down while plugging in the power cord at the back of the printer.if it still does not work then you can try the same with the # and the number 9.If it still does not work, get your printer serviced.
