Picture-in-picture won't go away

After owning the TV for 5 years and moving cross-country, all of a sudden the picture-in-picture screen shows up in the bottom right section of the TV. We have never used that feature and, in the course of moving, we lost the original remote. We've tried several ways of fixing the problem and nothing seems to work. Any ideas?

    Mattozan,
Thank you for your prompt reply. The picture-in-picture box remains on the screen when I am using the DVD player as well as for the TV signal.

Using the menu, and navigating the channel option, I was able to finally get rid of the Picture-in-picture.

There should be a menu button the tv, press it and navigate using the vol+ / - and ch + / - muttons, look in the menu for vide setup and picture in picture, just disable picture in picture mode.,, You can get anoter remote by contacting the manufacture of the tv and asking them for one, they will ship it for you

My hannspree tv screen goes black blank

If the picture shows a picture briefly upon power up then goes off after a few seconds, you have a back light fault. It could have a problem in the 24vdc circuit, failing back light inverter board, or a blown CCFL lamp.
