My ds will only show the little green light on but my screens will not come on it is like the screen is blacked out i charged it cuz i tought maybe it would be a dead battery so i charged it over night and i did not try to turn on my ds untill the morning and it just had a black sreen it had no sound at all it just showed the green light

look for broken copper strips that connects the screen to main board , take a very close look for sometimes they are just hairline cracks or breaks but enough to disable connection to screen, hope for loose connections...
on the bottom of the DS there should be a little dial next to the volume dial this is the brightness dial , turn the ds on and then turn the dial and keep turning and the screen should appear if this doesn't help then its probably a fault with the screens and will need repairing
For GBA games the green light is meant to stay on. The orange light will stay on as long as its recharging. It will turn off when its fully recharged or when you unplug it
If your DS is fully charged and a green light flashes on when you try to use it and maybe a screen flashes on, than you should try a new battery. Batteries lose their charging capacity after each charge.
