The problem is simple and easy to fix. Your washer has a tubing which runs from the base of the tub to the water pressure switch. It might have vibrated loose from the switch, or their can be some sediment in the tub. Blow out the tubing and reattach it securely to the switch and pump out the water in the tub. Then try it again. I wrote an article about this:

Washer will pour water but will not fill up

I see it looks like you have the 3 level water height on the panel. Usually labeled mini, Normal, Large loads. Try selecting Large load.
If that doesn't work, the switch is bad or the fill stop air chamber is not working.

Washer continues to fill and overflows

start to fill the washer, then turn it off,if water still keeps filling you have a bad inlet water valve,if it stops then check the water level water hose from the water level switch to the side of the outer tub-mike

2 problems 1st is the washer continues to fill with water when i put in a new load second is it wont spin

If the water keeps filling without cutting off, you either have a faulty inlet solenoide or your pressure hose and or pressure switch needs checking.

To isolate the acutal problem, start the machine on a new cycle. Change the water level to minimum or low before you start. Let the machine fill up. Keep checking the water intake as it fill up. Once the water level goes over the half way mark in your tank, if the machine starts its wash action then your pressure hose and switch are o.k. as they have signalled to the timer that the water level selected, has been reached.

However if the machine keeps filling up even though the wash action has started, then you have a faulty inlet solenoide/valve. Turn off water at the tap and get the valve replaced.

Kenmore 70 Series washing Machine won't stop filling with water

filling and never stops and never agitates? then check level switch and hose, any hole in the clear hose to the level sw can cause this. if airtight then replace level sw.

Washer fills up only half way but water keeps trying to fill tub

That is because the water level switch get stuck when water level reaches that particular point.

The water level switch is activated either by a floater sensor or by a membrane sensor that detects water pressure/volume, depending on the model.
On washing machines it is usually a membrane switch, and that is faulty on your machine.

Fill will not stop

you may have a problem with your pressure switch. or sometimes they call it the water level switch.

try to use it in the small level and see if it would stop filling around medium or large quantities of water.

if it would stop filling , then replace the water level sensor.

tnx 4 using fixya,

Water Overflow

hi there,

i would recommend checking the water level switch or lid switch and also the cable leading to it. that is what sends a signal to the machine control to stop filling with water.
