Saeco Espresso machine - Empty drip tray (all the time)

I bought a Saeco Talea Ring Plus half a year ago, and untill now it has worked perfectly. But now the display shows "Empty the drip tray" constantly. I feel a little stupid emtying the drip tray when it is actually already empty. Have a better solution? I have cleaned everything several times, but nothing seems to help.

Thank, Kaffesumpen, for trying to help me! Yea, I'm taking the container out, and even though it's empty and clean, the machine still insists that I should "empty the drip tray". I think I need to take it to service... Thanks a lot for trying to help!!

If you empty it/ take it out and in again does it still complain about it or is it after you made another cup of coffe? or is it serveral cups?

I just went try the same thing. I took a toothpick and really clean the corner and where I could see gunk. It worked.

Aye that is true if you click the coffe making button directly after you have had it out you will be able to make a cup, as the machine has a 2 second response time.

Ok here is what i think:
As it registers the driptray I dont think its the sensor to it.
More i would think that its the CPU card that is not responding to that its clean.

I am sry but I have to ask this:
When it says emptie the driptray are you actually taking out the container that is located under the brewing unit, and not the "drip tray" were you put the coffe mugs?

Also when i think i have a sensor problem I allways take out everything. Brewing unit, dripwater container, dregbox, and the watercontainer. and have it out for atleast 2 minutes ( clean it under the mean time) and put it back again.

As I dont have the machine infront of me i cant be certain:)

also make sure that the internal drip tray, underneath the brewer unit, is empty. That will be your problem!

Clarification: It complains constantly. Even when I empty the drip tray, which is already empty, put it back in (empty) - it still wants me to "empty the drip tray" again. Sometimes - if I'm lucky - I can brew 1 espresso before it wants me to empty the drip tray.
Thank you for your assistance!

You can also pull the drip tray out like 5 mm, and wait a couple of seconds. Then the display goes back to normal. But you'll have to check the tray manually, else you get overflow. The 'empty dreg' message is a good indication as to when to empty the tray.

Hi, I have a Saeco Talea Giro Plus machine and have only used it a few times. Now the alarm light is permanently on, but the machine has enough coffee and water and the drip tray and dregdrawer are empty....

Hi Natasja, try pull out the driptray and dreg draw while the machine is on and wait about 10 secs. When the red light start flashing, put the parts back. The red light should dissappear. Good luck.

I have a Saeco Talea. The drip tray will go up

Probably the touch pad is faulty. Before we decide that make sure the bottom touch area is dry and nothing sticking on to it.Can be check by removing the 2 screws underneath.
The worst case senerio will be the CPU which is not receiving the signal from the touch pad.

The selction ring on the Talea Ring Plus doesn't work anymore, does anyone have a clue?

I had the same problem, after dismantling the machine I found that the touch detector is glued to the back of the plastic front panel and had become detached, so that it was too far from the operator's finger to work. Reattached with fresh glue, checked connection to main board, works perfectly now.
