I have a Belkin N wireless router, model F5D8236-4 v1. I am unable to connect to the internet using the router and I've even tried resetting the router with no luck. The "modem" light on the router keeps blinking in an orange color. What can I do?

F the modem light keeps blinking, it means that the router hasn't been configured yet. Also, rarely, it can be an issue with WAN port/modem port on the router or the ethernet cable connecting the modem to router or finally, modem may not be working as its not applicable in this case(as you said).

1.Connect comp.--(gray port) router (yellow port)--modem
2.On the computer, open the router page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the address bar of browser

NOTE : IF YOUR INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER IS CABLE FOLLOW THE BELOW STEPS

3.Under Internet WAN , SELECT the connection type as Dynamic.->NEXT
4.On the far left column, click on "MAC address" under Internet WAN.
5.Click on clone and apply changes and finally check Internet status
6.If internet status > Not connected, we need to do a network power cycle
7.For this, unplug the power from router, then from modem, then unplug the coaxial cable from cable modem.
8. Wait for 60 sec, then connect the coaxial cable, then connect power to modem, wait for lights on modem to get steady, then finally, plug in the power to router.
Now, you may see proper lights lit on the router.
All my best wishes for a fast internet service through the router.

FOR PPPOE OR DSL CONNECTIONS
1.Under Internet WAN , SELECT the connection type as PPPOE ->NEXT
2.ENTER THE USERNAME & PASSWORD PROVIDED BY YOUR IN INTERNET SERVICE PROVIDER
3.CLICK ON APPLY CHANGES

For any advanced help, revert asap!
Thanks and regards,
MILAN

My Belkin F5D8236-4 v3 Router won't turn on. We had a storm last night and the power went out but the router won't turn on. I have tried to plug it into different outlets to see if that would work...

Try resetting the router. There should be a little hole somewhere on it with a button inside that you can press with a paperclip. Try holding that button down while you unplug then plug the router in while holding it (if possible). If that doesn't work, I'd suspect the storm might've damaged the router somehow. Was it plugged into a surge protector, and/or have you noticed any other issues with anything else that was turned on at the time?

1. check the power to the router unit.
2. check with you ISP ( Internet Service Provider) to see if connectivity to your router was interrupted. You may have to reset the router.
3. here are some instructions to follow:
1.Log into router. Using either 192.168.0.1 to 192.168.1.1 in a browser window that is ( internet Explorer or Firefox)
2. Verify wireless router name( on the computer) >>> ( on/off) ( router status window)
3.Note router name you are connecting to.
4.. Check the laptop do ipconfig /all to see current IP addresses.
5. Set the laptop up in the router by WEP KEY or MAC address. This set up in the "security tab" in the router. using 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 to access through a browser.
6.Note router name you are connecting to.
7. Move the laptop about 20ft away and try to log on to the internet.
This is for all routers to set up wirelessly.
8. check for firmware update at the manufacturers site for your model router

I, i am now connected to the internet with my wireless router (Belkin f7d1401 v1) but only via cable i can not via wireless. i have also digited 192.168.2.1 but now i dont know going further

You must login to the router and setup the wireless. Make sure you turn the WIFI broadcast on (enable it) so you can actually have wifi signal.

Setting up Linksys Wireless Router for Satellite

In Windows, run "cmd". Type "ping google.com". If you can ping google.com, the problem is with the websites you are trying to surf. If you cannot ping google, there is a problem with your connection. This sounds like a used wireless router

You might need to configure it. See this: https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=139668#H2

Belkin 54G won't connect to the internet

Are you sure your modem is giving a WAN IP from your ISP? Try power-cycling your modem with your router unplugged then bring up your router next, if you havent tried that already... After that try connecting your modem directly to a PC and set your NIC card to DHCP and see if you get an IP address thats routable to the internet (i.e not a private IP)
