My tv cant receive digital channels though we already have a b-cas card or the digital card you insert to get channels. We can only watch from analog channels. We're in japan and everything is written in japanese which makes it harder for us to operate our tv. The tv says something about adjusting antenna levels but that we dont know. Our apartment is cable-ready. How do we fix this problem?

SOURCE: Toshiba 26AV502U Won't Pick Up Channels

Hi albertogiler, I am happy to help, you will need to attach a antenna to the tv to pick up OTA over the air signals, depending on your location you may be able to use a set of rabbit ears, I have provided a link to a site that will explain in depth. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/welcome.aspx
Let me know if this helps and please rate this solution. lone99star

Look in your manual for a channel scan entry. It should be an item in your setup menu. What this does is re-scan for all the signals it can receive.
Once the scan is done, it should display all the channels that are viewable in your area

SOURCE: How do we make my TV capable of receiving regular

You would have to hook up an external TV antenna on the UHF/VHF band and run a coaxial cable from the antenna to the TV and plug in the "Belling-Lee" connector into the "Antenna" socket at rear of unit.. This should enable reception via "Normal TV"

SOURCE: only picking up one digital channel

digital air signals are weak and fussy. They are easily lost by having trees or large buildings in the way too.
The best thing to do is install a long range roof top antenna and re program the set. Be sure to aim the antenna correctly. if you cannot use a roof top antenna you can try the indoor digital antennas, but less likely to work consistently

Do i need a digital converter box to watch tv with an antenna with model 46la55r120q

According to the user's manual, the TV can receive and decode analog and digital TV signals, so no, you should not need a digital converter box. During the channel scan it will search for analog channels first, then digital ones.

We use to get antenna on our tv now we cant n use to get analog n cant what can i do

analog tv has been turned off and is no longer available. if you have not got a digital aerial on you roof you will have to get an indoor digital aerial. if you have a sky dish and receiver you can plug that into the tv and watch the free channels.

Can I make my own antenna for my Emerson TV to pick up analog channels?

Of course, analog channels are being phased out (or have already been phased out) & are being repurposed for use in other technology. This could make contriving such a device accessory unethical & possibly illegal.

As far as receiving free over-the-air digital television channels is concerned, it would be better to start the effort aequipped with information as to what is available in your local viewing area. HDTV Pub (http://www.hdtvpub.com/) could help you with that.

If you have the technology for watching digital television channels, digital channel television antennae are availabe in a number of stores.

I have a 19" magnavox

Do you have a digital converter box. If not, you need to get one to receive the analog channels.

No channels on either VHF or UHF settings

The news is not good, my friend.
The USA switched to digital broadcasts of TV signal around February 2009. Before that, all TV stations were transmitting analog signals. This TV has an analog tuner and is not able to receive digital broadcasts.
Unfortunately, this TV does not have any input jacks for coaxial cable, RCA cords, or even a plug for TV input. So you don't have any simple means to hook up to DVD players or videogames, or (most importantly) a digital-to-analog converter box. Basically, this TV has no value in the USA. If you take it to a country that still broadcasts NTSC analog signals over the air, though, you'll be in good shape. But if I'm on vacation in one of those places, the last thing I'm going to do is spend my time watching a teeny tiny television, you know?

New TV doesn't register being HD ready during test TV stations do

Try going into the setup menu and make sure it is set to antenna then do a channel program. You don't need to wait for a test there are plenty of channels already there. Both digital and analog channels are still available so you will still a message that you are not receiving digital if you are putting it on an analog channel. The channel number has to have a dot(.) in it like 8.1, 24.1 If there is no dot you are on an analog channel

We bought a 20" analog/digital tv the analog channels come on fine but we it scans for the digital channels it says no siginal will we be able to watch it when the change takes place even though we can't...

This could be caused by two different issues.
  • Digital signal reception is bad. The digital signal must be locked in, digital signal reception is either on or off (not like analog signal reception where you can receive a low signal and a fuzzy picture). You may need to adjust you antenna direction and height or obstructions around your antenna, reference the web site for your specific location (address) for antenna compass headings. http://www.antennaweb.org/aw/Address.aspx
  • Television is faulty, digital receiver is bad. Your new television has two receivers, an analog receiver and a digital receiver. A simple power surge will knock out your digital receiver. Make sure you have a quality surge suppressor connected to the television power and the antenna is properly grounded. Return the television for a replacement and purchase a quality surge suppressor.
You must add a quality surge suppressor to your digital television! http://ezinearticles.com/?Power-Protection-in-the-Home-Theater---Use-of-Surge-Suppressors-to-Guard-Expensive-Electronic-Gear&id=41318

Good luck.

Tuning to pick up sky feed

Sounds like from discription the sky feed is set up for analog channel 6. With my TV-HVR-1600 card, there is an option in the wintv application when you click the menu button in the application that says channel suite. If you select this option, you should find and option for analog source. Select analog source in this screen and you should be able to manually add channel 6 in the box at the top of the analog souce screen. Also if you have the sky feed connected and you you click the scan button on this screen, it should detect automatically is the sky feed is on.

Trouble receiving local channels on TV using new Magnavox converter box

Your digital converter box probably does not have an analog pass through that allows the old analog channels to go through to the tv's analog tuner.
