You need display repair ($39.95) and a waveguide cover (assuming your model is DMT2420-something, the cover's part number is 66345, which you can order from the Pros here.
The idiots at Martin's Appliance in Ephrata came out to repair, they told me that the microwave was drawing too much power. (Incidentally, it was out of warranty their extended warranty by two months). I turned off the breaker and suprisingly, learned to live without my microwave. (Kids use the better one in our lower level). After a year and a half of wrestling with a decision regarding its replacement, I decided to flip the breaker. Lo and behold the display reset itself. It finally went blank again, but the microwave works if you can visualize the numbers. Thanks for your tip.
