We have a 3 years old 42inch Plasma TV . Half of the screen has colored lines and other half you can see normal TV
There is a defected capacitor in the vertical circuit trouble shoot and replace. or if the vertical circuit is separate then replace the whole board.good luck

when i turn on my 42 in LG plasma tv, it very often turns on with colored lines up and down. sometimes half the screen and sometimes all accross the screen. the sound also has a cricket like sound. sometimes if i turn it off and on several times, it clears up. but, it is not clearing up recenly.
the tv is 18 months old.
