There is a snippet on the Xerox website to solve imaging unit recognition problems, link below. http://www.support.xerox.com/support/phaser-7760/downloads/engb.html?operatingSystem=winxp&fileLanguage=en_GB Usually this problem only occurs if the NVRAM has been reset or the engine board has been replaced without backing up the NVRAM. You can download the snippet to your printer through Centreware or by downloading the 'File Downloader' utility from the same page above.
Hope this helps.

Xerox phaser 7760 saying "black ATC sensor failure - code 009-380", i changed developer and xerox phaser 7760 saying "black ATC sensor failure - code 009-380", i changed developer and xerox phaser 776

When you have a sensor failure, you need to replace the black ATC sensor and recalibrate it. Another reason for sensor failure is you are not getting toner moved down to mix with the developer...the toner tube/auger spring could be clogged up or not functioning.

Also if you changed the developer housing when you changed the developer, you need to change the value to the new sensor # that comes with the housing.

I have a Phaser 7760 , I bought used from a national retail chain. It is set up to use " metered" cartridges. ( Metering enabled). What do I need to do to use regular " non metered"...

You should change the Config chip (part# 856-8871-00 for the DN version) and MCU NVRAM (part# 160K76652). After replacing these you wont be able to use metered toner though, only the non-metered toners. ItemInc.com has these in stock. Also, they have done this before if you need free technical advice give them a call.

The black image unit of your machine should be replaced soon. It is a maintenance item and is very easy to change. They cost about $350 new, but you can buy one much cheaper rebuilt. Here is a video I made to help explain what it is you need to change and how to do it. Good luck

Xerox phaser 7760 streaking

to fined out what the problem could be you need to open a word doc and sent a blank page to the printer. from this it will show where the problem is in the printer
if u still get streaking it couls be a faulty toner and it may not be the cyan toner either. i would give the fuser unit in the printer a check. if there marks on tthis unit i can cause this problem as well
