Heya,
Maybe you can help me. No one else seems to have this problem. My ionic breeze seems to work, but it makes a very high pitched noise that only few people can hear (me--and I don't like it).
Anyway, I remember there being two strips of orangey tape at the bottom of the rods when I first got it. I don't seem them now, and if memory served, they looked like they could conduct or absorb static discharge. I'm wondering if the absense of those may be causing the device to make the high pitch noise.
Any ideas?
I have the Ionic Breeze Quadra (oldie... bought in 2000?)

There being two strips of orangey tape at the bottom of the rods appear to be mylar - a high resistence material.
There being two strips of orangey tape at the bottom of the rods wipe clean the two thin wires stretching the length of the ionic breeze each time you remove the filter elements to clean the filter. Seems like these wires may be emitting the audible high pitched noise if dirty.

Thanks, but they orangey strips of plastic or tape are not present anymore, so they cannot be making the sound. Their absense *could* be the reason for the high pitched noise, but I have no idea what they were or how to get more of whatever they're made of.
