I recently bought a Logitech Harmony One universal remote for my VIzio HDTV and Vizio soundbar. Following the setup instructions on the DVD I sucessfully set up the remote to control the TV, cable box and Sanyo Blu Ray disc player. But stll ahve to use a separate remote to control the volume on the sound bar. Is there a way to add the sound bar controls to the remote? I can't find it listed on the devices list of the dvd.

What remote are you trying to use? I have had a lot of troubles with Vizio TV's, they are pretty picky remote wise. The only universal remote that i have had good luck with on them is the Logitech Harmony series of remotes, beyond that most of the cheap store remotes from Phillips, RCA, and other no name brands don't always seem to work with them. I also went through a rash of people not being able to get their Vizio working with their DirectTV and DISH universal remotes.

Use the following instructions and code list to program your VIZIO Universal Remote Control. Press the TV (or device) button and hold for 5 seconds until the LED flashes twice. LED will remain lit. Find the programming code for your TV (or device) in the code list and enter it using the Number Buttons.

Make sure you are sending the audio out to the correct port using the audio section of the setup menu for the TV

The instructions on letting the Hipi remote to seach for the code that came with my remote are not correct. I used the instructions from HOWTO.COM and printed below. There are two changes from the printed instructions. The first is to push the <TV> button after the <Code Search> button. The second is that the <Enter> button saved the code not the <MUTE> button.

Instructions

Turn on the Vizio TV.

Aim the Jumbo Universal Remote at the Vizio TV and hold down the "Code Search" button on the remove for roughly 3 to 5 seconds. The LED lights on the Jumbo Universal Remote will come on.

Press the "TV" button at the top of the Jumbo Universal Remote.

Start pressing the "ON/OFF" button repeatedly until the Vizio TV turns off. (This took only a few tries for my Vizio TV)

Press "Enter" on the remote immediately after the Vizio TV turns off to save the code.

Test the Jumbo Universal Remote by trying to control the Vizio TV with the remote. If the control doesn't work with the remote, repeat the entire process.

Hi. Try learning the power commands for your Vizio TV from the original remote. The power commands that the Harmony remote is using may not be correct. The following tutorial by Logitech will assist you with this.

Hello,

The remotes you have purchased and tried, are universal remotes ? For an item like that the default remote that came with it would work best. I would email Vizio customer support and get a replacement. I had to do the same thing about a year ago. They charged me 10 dollars for a new one.

After much research, here is a step-by-step for getting your Vizio Soundbar to work with the Comcast remote using EFC codes (mine is the newer charcoal grey one, works great!)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 11144 (2 blinks)

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00169 - Vol Up - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00168 - Vol Down - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00037 - Mute - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00165 - Power - Should get 2 blinks

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00164 - Input - Should get 2 blinks

These are optional, I didn't use them:

Aux - Setup (2 blinks) - 994 - Setup - 00036 - <button to use for TVOL> - Should get 2 blinks

Then set the volume control on the remote and other settings according to the Remote's manual.

Went through the IR learn in the setup and was able create functionality. Not sure why original setup did not work cause the tv model is in the database.

It looks like your remote takes a 4 digit code. Try the following codes:
