I don't know whoi suggested a $10 part to you, but Sounds like you need a new water valve (some debris inside the valve causing it to not fully close). These are availible from your local appliance parts store or on line from the manufacture. Once you have your replacement, just take the 3 #20 torx screws out of the rear of the top panel slide the whole panel slightly towards the rear and lift it off. On the outside of the washer on the back panel, You should a light blue plastic thing that the 2 matching hoses from your house connect to. Turn your water off and remove these hoses. Just beside them you will find another #20 torx bit screw (some models use a #10 or #15). Remove this screw as well and slide the valve slightly to the side. It will come loose. Now from the inside of the machine, you will see 4 blue wires going into 2 connectors on the valve. Remove these
connectors only by pulling on the connectors, not the wires. Lastly you will see a small black hose with a green or silver clamp on it. Squeeze the clamp with a pair of pliers and then slide it down the hose. The hose should now pull free of your old valve. Re-assemble in reverse.
Please remember to rate this information if it was helpful to you. Best of luck and drop me a note if you have any troubles.

Whirlpool duet ghw9400plo

Check the power input from the plug with a device which looks like a plug-in with six lights which can be purchased from a bigbox store and sells for less than 20 dollars, it tells you exactly what is wrong and if there is something wrong with the plug, I would suggest checking ALL of the plugs in the house and mapping out the electrical on the panel

Ultimate care washer is very slow to fill on the cold side. I have cleaned the inlet screen and swapped the lines to test things. What could be the problem inside the machine?

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II LSQ9549L top load washer -- hot water okay at inlet on back of unit, but won't fill tub. Is it a valve or a clogged line inside?

Most likey a bad water valve. You can replace it with just a few screws and a pair of pliers for the hose. You can test by swicting around hoses and the plugs on valve if you'd like to test it then try the machine on cold wash(it should be hot). While you switch them inspect the screens for rust and any clogging. Good Luck, Mastatech

Whirlpool washer WTW57ESVW0 won't fill with water. I bought this machine two months ago was working fine and then just stopped filling water. Spin cycle and drain cycle work but it won't start fill...

Solution for WTW57ESVW0 Whirlpool Washer that won't fill or agitate, but will spin and drain water.

Replacing the Auto Load Sensing Switch (W10177795 - Illus. No. 12 on Control and Rear Panel Parts) fixed the problem.

In addition, a defective switch can also cause the machine to start agitating while it is filling.

It is relatively easy to replace and there are online videos that can help with the replacement.

$10 fill valve?

not sure about the $10 replacement (i think it was20-30). if you search for "whirlpool washer fill valve" on the net or on something like ebay, you will get something. alternatively you can try searching on the actual part number.

the mount on generic part I ordered was upside down. So i just mounted it to a piece of 1x2 to reinforce it.
