Str-gx800es sony receiver problem- right channel speaker sound is 'static', low and distorted. I have checked checked all speaker and output/input source cable connections with no luck. All left channel speaker outputs work fine. Is this a problem that requires a service technician or can it be something I can do myself. I have no other problems with the Sony. Thanks for any help.

If you have checked the speakers and wiring, the right channel has a audio driver or output problem, which explains the low volume, static, and distortion. A service technician will be required to fix the receiver so it will balance the left side.

Sony GX800ES protector

Make sure none of the speaker wires are touching each other. If they are, it will short out the stereo which triggers protection mode and cuts out all of the sound.

No rear speakers coming out oy my system.reciever sony STR-DG800 and bose acoustimass 10 speakers

The rear left and right channel has a audio output ic problem, first check rear speaker wires for shorts, if okay! the system will need to be assessed for repair costs.

I have an additional subwoofer 10" JBL. How do I go about hooking it up with my sony receiver GX800ES?

That is a capable unit. Do you have a user manual? If not, it is here:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/model-home.pl?mdl=STRGX800ES&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=manuals#/manualsTab
In there it says you connect the subwoofer to the "Surround Out - Mono" output terminal.

My Sony STR-DE135 reciever has sever distortion on the right channel speakers (A&B) no matter which input is selected. I can not find any obvious fault on the board. Any tips to help me fix it?

It sounds like your receiver may have a damaged output IC. I'm assuming that you've already tried a known good speaker on the right channel but if not, that would be a good idea. Also check and verify that the speaker wire is not damaged and that the terminals at each end are securely fastened.

Good Luck,

Surround sound distortion

Receivers like this will incorrectly decode rear channel audio and pass it on to the rear channels as distorted audio. Make sure the source being used really has rear channel information encoded into it. It could have other issues but check this first.
