When I bought the Digimax D53 I installed the software on my old pc. It worked great but now that I have bought a new pc with Windows Vista and I can't install the D53 software. Where can I locate the drivers needed for compatability?
Same problem with a Samsung Digimax 350S. I changed computers and moved from XP to Vista. I have the original CD but the driver will not load. The Samsung web site is useless, probably because the camera is too old for them to provide support for it.

Either you'll have to break out the old XP computer, or you can download your pictures to Vista, using a card reader. There is a snowballs chance that the software may work with Vista, but it usually doesn't, since it was developed back in 06 or thereabouts. But a card reader will download the pics, and then you can use a free, 3rd party software (like Irfanview) on them for effects, or retouching. Hope this helps...
Maybe you could do a search on the website for the software or even call or
send an e-mail to Samsung and explain your situation maybe they can
tell you how to get it if not from them. Good luck. :)
Go to SamsungCamera.com Click on Support and Download Click on Download Centre Click Utility Click Software Click Samsung Master V1.1 Fill Up the form Look for your model number
If it is older software, it is probably not made to run on Vista Operating Systems. I would check the market for something Vista compatible. Samsung might even have updated software on their website for purchase. But you might want to do some bargain hunting around the net first. Or you could always just connect the camera to the computer and copy the pictures into the "My pictures" folder on your computer. And with Vista's "Windows Image Viewer" (or something of that nature) you can do basic things to the photos, like adjust brightness, contrast, or saturation. You could also crop the photos, and more. The Vista provided image viewer is probably equal to what you could do to photos in the software.
If your new computer's operating system is Windows Vista, the driver for the Samsung Digimax D53 is incompatible. If you have W98, then you should just be able to plug and play your camera to your computer or download the driver from www.samsungcamera.com
if you still have your old computer and your new one haves a 3 an 1/2 floppy disk drive you can put the program on the floppy and then boot it up on your new computer.
driver of your D53 is not compatible with PC's running Vista. camera has plug and play connection with PC and when transferring files, camera could be connected to PC without downloading driver. It will come up as DCIM or 100SSCAM folder. If you tried to connect your camera to PC but it is still not recognized, try to download remote service for camera in samsungcamerausa.com under support and remote service.
