The machine is not draining water - it starts the washing cycle, takes in the powder and churns around but then stops when it needs to drain the water. If I empty all the water out, it will then spin the clothes. I have cleaned filters.

Hi,

Remove any kinks in the drain hose. Ensure that the washer is not sitting on the hose.

Inspect the household drain. Remove clogs, if possible. Call a plumber if you cannot remove the clogs.

Check the drain and make sure there is an air gap between the hose and drain. An air gap is necessary to prevent the drain hose from siphoning water.

Clean the pump filter. Open the pump access door. Turn the pump filter counter-clockwise and remove it. Remove dirt and debris. Replace the filter and close the pump access door.

Rearrange the clothing in the load. An unbalanced load can prevent the washer from spinning or draining.

Allow the washer to cool down for two hours. If the washer overheats, it will stop the motor and cool down before restarting.

Close the door completely. The washer will not operate if the door is not securely closed.

I hope the above helps.

Good luck.

Why does the fabric softener compartment fill with water that won't drain

When the fabric softener dries out it cakes up, the water left over stops the clogging. Leave the dispenser door open a little when not in use to prevent black mold buildup from the moisture.

Machine lacked about 23 minutes in cycle, it stopped with lights flashing. It will not drain, therefore cannot spin. It just beeps whenbi try to start it again.

Good Day,
Your washing machine is fully automatic?
the washing cycle is normal?
if yes do the same maybe it will help you.
for the fully automatic washing machine mostly have drain pump, please check the filter of your drain pump, how? remove the cup of your drain pump like a ordinary cup, screw it clock wise or counter clock wise.
Remove drain pump filter and clean it, some hair pins, cotton buds or coins or any small item that coz of clog up.
if your washing machine dont have drain pump ,but fully automatic check the drain motor if running or not? how? open the back cover for top loader washing machine only, select spin cycle and press start to see the drain motor running? the drain motor is like a small box with small wire to pull the lever of the drain to remove water inside, if the motor running or pull the lever of the water pipe but water still inside the washing machine, remove the drain cup or cover and clean it or check if have coin or cloth inside that coz of clog or water stuck,
if the drain pump or drain motor is weak this is will cause and long time draining or totally not running the drain pump or drain motor and its cause of totally stop the cycle of washing machine in rinse time or spin time, because all fully automatic washing machine, after washing cycle the drain pump or drain motor must be on, to remove water before start the next cycle. rinse or spin cycle.

Machine stopped in mid cycle with the drain/unlocking light on. No error codes. Machine goes directly to the drain/unlocking position after start. Will not fill, spin, operate. Any ideas?

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I suspect the panel is not screwed on/in completely. You will need to take the access panel off again and pour anticalc/limescale fluid into it and around the screw thread to clean it. Also take the filter out completely and check that there is no rubbish stopping it from seating as far in as it should (which would also stop the panel from screwing in and sealing). Give the whole filter channel a good wipe around with a cloth before putting the filter and panel back.
Another trick is to empty the machine and you can switch it off providing the door is open! Then pour the contents of at least 2 sachets of proprietary anticalc powder/liquid into the drum direct together with a kettle full of boiling water. Leave overnight at the very least. The following day run just a spin cycle as then there will be no water diluting the mix. This mix will go through the filter and motor and is likely to help clean the filter/cap. If you feel like it, do the overnight again. It will also ensure that the heater element is clean!
I now run an anticalc clean regularly............which reminds me..............!
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Whirpool Duet - Soap not getting into wash cycle

O.K. Is the water draining out properly? If the filter is blocked then your washing will be churning in dirty water as the machine will drain for a maximum time then rinse etc. in the used water.

LG Model WD-80130F - Water not draining out

The pump is usually located under the unit, attached to the motor or belt driven. If not sure, it should have two 1 1/2 inch hoses attached to it. Something may be stuck in it or the bearings maybe wore out & it needs replaced. Pumps are not that expensive. Powder detergent will wear them out faster also!
