Hi,

The problem which your are experiencing is an intermittent connection , for this you can try updating the firmware on the router and observe the connection. Still if the problem persists then its obvious that the router has gone bad.

Please let me know the model number of the router to send the firmware version of it.

Thanks in Advance!

With Regards,
Prema.

Hi..I have Toshiba laptop with Windows Vista on. I am able to connect to internet using Ethernet however on Wireless it gives me error as PPPOE authentication failed. Not sure how I can go over here..

I suggest you to hard reset and configure the router settings manually to fix this issue.

A) Please follow the steps given below to Hard reset the router:

- Connect the computer to the "LAN" port on the router and connect the modem to the Internet/"WAN" port, using Ethernet cables.

- Take a paper clip, insert the paper clip in the reset hole of the router and hold it for 60 seconds.

- Unplug the power cable from the router after 20 seconds while the reset button is pressed.

- Wait for about 20 seconds and then plug-in the power cable back to the router.

- Wait for all the lights on the router to light up solid and then release the reset button.

- The power light will flash and then come back "ON" solid, indicating that the router is being restored to factory defaults.

B) Please follow the steps given below for configuring the router manually:

- Log on to the router web interface by typing in http://192.168.2.1, in the address bar of your browser.

- By default, the password is blank.

- Click on "Connection Type" in the left hand column under "Internet WAN" heading.

If the connection type is PPPOE (DSL):

- Choose "PPPOE" and click on "Next".

- Enter the user name and password given by your Internet Service Provider.

- Save the settings.

- Click on the "Home" link at the top of the screen.

Internet Status should show "Connected" on the top right hand corner of the web page. If not please unplug the power cable from the router and unplug the power from the modem, leave these both units unplugged for 1 minute. Plug the power to the modem first and wait for the modem to get ready, then plug the power to the router.

If the problem persists, please get back to us with the following information:

1. Type of connection provided by your ISP (Is it PPPOE, Dynamic or static).

2. Name of the Internet service provider (ISP).

I cannot get netflix on my wii. Screen says that it cannot connect to internet.

It looks like your security settings is not the same with your router. Double check the security name and security code in your Wii is the same as your router's. If it is different change it to what your router has then try to connect it again. If it still don't connect try to unplug your router and wait for a few minutes and plug it again. Wait for your router to initialize and if it is ready try to connect again in the internet.
I hope this helps. Have a nice day!

D-Link DIR 655 - DHCP server but no internet

This usually happens when the router has timed out trying to grab an IP address from your modem.

I suggest unplugging your router and modem, waiting 1 minute, plugging in your modem, wait 1 minute, plug in your router, wait 1 minute, then try to connect again.

If this solution has helped you, please take the time to rate me.

Computer cabled to Dynex enhanced G wireless will not connect

Unplug the router for ten seconds and plug it back in, it needs to reset. Some routers have a reset button. I often wait longer than ten seconds, I find a beer is usually the right amount of time. Sometimes the modem needs a reset also; unplug everything, then plug back in sequence, with the modem first, the wait, then the router, wait, then turn on your computer. That system works for any brand modem and router.

Please help!

I had a similar problem with a TP-Link wireless router. I unplugged the Ethernet cable from the router and plugged it back into the DSL modem and connected to the internet. Brought up a web browser and made sure I was on line. Then replugged the cable from modem to router and the to pc. Your computer will have pop-up messages that the connection has been unplugged then reconnected. I then was able to connect. Sometimes just unplugging things or rebooting will solve a lot of problems. Hopefully you can solve. Good Luck.

Motorola sbg900 wireless modem

have you tried powercycling your modem? turn of your computer, unplug the power cord from the back of the modem. wait a minute (literaly). plug power back into modem and wait for lights to come on and stop flashing. power computer back up. Check to see if connections works. Also check your cable connections between the modem and the computer. If all fails contact your Internet Service Provider, who most likely provided you with the modem.
