I have no screen but i have sound - Hitachi Televison & Video

Go into TV menu, scroll down to audio, then go to digital audio out. Change to auto or optic and HDMI.

If you are getting sound and picture from the screen's auxiliary jacks, then this only confirms that the screen is faulty. The DVD player must be reading the picture signal as it supplying the auxiliary jacks, but the screen has failed to display the signal.

HelloCheck the backlight inverter board. If it has damged, most common fault to LCD TVs, there will be no backlight to the LCD screen, and will look black. Your tV has sound output without picture. This means that all other boards ar functioning well. Check the backlight inverter section and CCFL tubes used in backlight assembly. OK.

Sounds

• To set volume for media and videos, from the home
screen, touch Menu > Settings > Sound &
display > Media volume.

• To play tones when using the dial pad, from the
home screen, touch Menu > Settings > Sound
& display > Audible touch tones.

• To play sound on a screen selection, from the home
screen, touch Menu > Settings > Sound &
display > Audible selection.

My television worked this morning and now only shows a blue screen. The sound works but no picture except for a wavy blue screen.

Could be the lamp is failing.

Wait about 30 minutes and replug to AC power and redo the cabling. Switch on the TV and see if it works..

Could you please specify some things like how big is your hdd & how much memory do you have. These 2 things are very important when installing a new operating system like xp & up.
Sounds like you may need another one of the sound drivers. Do you have the Realtek97 Audio driver?
And is your standby option greyed out when you click start & turn off computer? This will be a video driver issue I'm pretty sure. When you drag a window quickly across the screen do you see it like streaks or what exactly do you mean by "slow screen"?
