Just bought new chest freezer, 7.2 cu ft, today. Been running for almost 5 hours and temp inside at 65'. How long does it take freezer this size to be at proper temp?
I was told that the frion (sp?) may have leaked out of freezer during shipping and that's what cools it down. We returned product and exchanged for new freezer.I was told that the frion (sp?) may have leaked out of freezer during shipping and that's what cools it down. I am having the same problem. How long did it take?
I bought mine second hand and think it may be broken. I plugged it in 8 hours ago. I can hear it running but it's not cold yet.

look in your onwers manuel and it should tell you what your temperature for the freezer should range from.if it was not giving to you when you bought the freezer then it should be behind the pannel down where the compresser is taped to the side.but as you know any thing below 32 degrees is freezing so 5 degrees is pretty cold.i dont under stand about the noise but if you think your freezer is not working right and if it is new then call place where you got it and tell them your concerns and then they should send a technician out
your ptc overload relay on the compressor is bad, unplug it off the compressor and get a replacement at an appliance parts store, plug in the replacement and this will solve your problem
First off it takes 24 hours for a freezer to bring the inside temperature down to a suitable temperature, but to replace the seal raise the edge of the seal and you will see the track that hold it on, please allow 24 hours to see if temperature drops and repost details
