after i instaled Windows 7 on my computer my sound card isnt working .i have a ASUS a8s-x motherboard. i searched on asus websites for any updates but there isnt any for Windows 7 :/ can u guys help me?

1) Turn the computer on. When Windows has loaded all the way, put the Installation (CD) disk in your optical drive. Load the software.
No disk? Go to the Sound Card manufacturers website, and download the software. Now INSTALL it.
If asked to restart your computer -> NO Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen. Turn the computer off.
FOLLOWING Anti-Static Precautions, and computer unplugged from power, open the computer case, and physically install the Sound Card.
Close the computer case, do not forget to hook up the audio wires to your sound card. Plug computer into power, WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.
2) Doesn't have a sound adapter card, and is just Integrated Audio? Download AND install the audio drivers from Asus for that motherboard, AND Operating System you are using. (Win XP and Win 7, are two examples of an O/S)

You can always have choice you know . Now as your ON board Sound card is not working with windows 7 you can buy a Sound card for replacement like of creative and other companies... they would be the best choice at low cost and windows 7 compatible... But before buying it please try updating your driver.
Hi, Did you try reinstalling the Sound card driver. Kindly check if the driver supports Windows 7 or you need to get the latest driver for Windows 7. Some tips given below can help you diagnose the issue related to your Motherboard. If you have the motherboard CD, try this: Go to device manager and uninstall the sound driver. When installing it again, choose to search for the driver. Then go to the cd>drivers>audio>vista.
If you dont have the cd, just download the vista drivers from asus.com
This is a known isue and ASUS is working on a sound driver for the chipset. Keep checking their site for driver updates. The board should all install with Windows 7 except for the sound drivers. Some people say they can install the vista driver and run it in vist or xp compatibility mode. The other thing you can do is pick up a cheap $20 Win 7 compliant sound card till the chipset driver issue is resolved.
the audio for asus p5pe is soundmax ad1888 as of now there no driver that supports win7 you'll just have to wait until the product manufacturer releases a driver that will support win7
This is because the sound driver achitecture does not fit with operating system of windows 7. Search for the a sound driver that will be compatible with windows 7, that will be found in the website of the motherboard brand.
you can get this driver. You might have to look a bit for it. The driver will come from Microsoft though, not from Asus. I have several ASUS motherboards running windows 7. In most cases if you go to the devide manager, right click the "missing driver" for HD audio, Windows 7 has usually gone out downloaded the file by itself. But if you have to look for it, go to the microsoft website and search for HD audio in their downloads section.
The latest XP drivers should do the job. Uninstall the drivers that you already installed.
Unzip the driver files to a temp directory, then instruct the Found New Hardware wizard to search in the temp directory for drivers, or click on Update Driver through Device Manager then point the Wizard to search in the temp directory:
