My CD's will not play on my Denon 2910 anymore. The DVD's have no problem and play fine (sounds and picture). However, when I enter a CD, the display indicates " loading" and then jumps to 00H00M00S. To the left of the time indiactor the word "progressive" is lit up in red.
I have no idea what th eproblem could be. Can anyone help?
I have the same problem with my Denon DVD-2900. The unit stops loading/reading next cd that i put immediately after finishing 1 cd. I have to repeatedly re-load the disc or switch off the unit for a while to make it play a disc again.
No problem with dvd and sacd discs though.
Same problem
Hi,
There has been a number of reports of similar issues with Denon models that utilizes the 'PureProgressive technology'. Some of the issues and tried corrective measures are -
1. It would appear that in certain occasion, performing a "region free hack" disables the 'PureProgressive technology' and one solution tried is to set the unit to NTSC and not multi or PAL;
2. disable/turn-off digital output;
3. some has reported significant improvement when a firmware upgrade was performed;
4. use DVI instead of of other outputs.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

By this time I figure most peoples warranties are expired. So give this a try:
1 Open the case.
2 Turn the unit on and load a disk.
3 On top of the disk transport, you will see a black disk trying to spin as it reads the disk. You might notice that it is a bit quite as the display goes to 00H00M00S. It should be fast and a bit noisy.
4 Try loading a disk again, except this time, try to help that little black disk spin. It might take a couple of attempts, but I was able to get my 2910 working again.
The last year I've had to do this 2-3 times. But it works. From what little I have read, it may just be an issue with lubricating the right part with the right oil. I've narrowed my choices to PTFE 3n1 oil, Lithium oil, or silicone oil.
now I just need to find the right places to oil.
There should be quite a bit of noise and speed
