First of all, check the free space on your hard drive, if it is showing as almost full, this will be slowing down your computer. Use the maintenance command under properties to delete and clean up all dead data (cookies etc)
After that, delete the rubbishware that you do not use. I suggest you download this application to do this with
http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html
Now see if this improves the problems, if not and you are showing a decent amount of hard drive space, I suggest you run a command line virus scan and check for viruses and malware
I suggest this:
http://www.freedrweb.com/cureit/?lng=en
Run this in safe mode, allow 1 hours for it to scan and then do a deeper scan by setting the scan to C:/
After the scan has been completed, reboot and back in my computer, go to the C drive, properties and "check volume for errors"
