Hi. I have my own iPod and two of my young kids kids received new iPod shuffles for Christmas. Should I set up two new accounts, one for each of them, with their own info? Do i use my own Apple id to register these, or create 2 new apple ids for them?

I would have a account for yourself and ONE account for your kids. If your kids used your account, they could possibly buy stuff using your credit card information if you have one registered with your account. The reason I say one account for yours kids is because you can manage it easier with one. Both kids can buy songs from that same account if needed. You can set parental controls in the kids account as well.
Good luck :)

In the contrast, they also want to have a closecontact with apple's products such as ipod touch, iphone, ipad or otheradvanced gadgets . According to Duracell Toy Report, out ofthe surveyed 2,138 kids, 39 per cent want an Apple product. Seventy per cent5-8 year olds, 50 per cent to 9-12 year olds, and 16 per cent of 13-16 yearolds wanted an Apple product this Christmas. The Apple <span>iPhone4, the Apple iPod Touch and the Apple iPad tablet computer were the three mostdesired Christmas gifts among children, with age group ranging from 5 to 16years. What a great shock for parents for they are too young to play these dearand advanced products.</span> Owing to this trend among those kids, some school made a survey that how much do they learn about ipod , iphone ,ipad."I know ipod well. <a>The iPod is a combination portabledigital media player and hard drive from Apple Computer. The original versionwas about the of a deck of playing cards, with a monochrome screen and a 5gigabyte capacity. iPods can be now be purchased with up to 60 GB of hard drivecapacity and color screens capable of playing television shows, videos ormovies uploaded from a PC. </a> <span>"AniPod can be connected to a computer with either a FireWire or USB port, withmany of the latest versions depending upon USB 2.0. iPods have a reputation forbeing user-friendly." When I turn on my ipod shuffle & hit play it blinks green and orange several times and won't play

The Apple iPod shuffle is a digital music player that contains a single indicator light that relays information about the device's battery condition, computer connection and any errors the device is having. The indicator light is capable of blinking red, green or orange as well as displaying a steady red, green or orange light. The iPod Shuffle includes a Universal Serial Bus interface and buttons on the front of the device for controlling music files.

Blinking Orange A blinking orange light indicates the iPod Shuffle is receiving an update via iTunes to the device's internal components. The update could include a patch to repair an error the player encountered once before, an update to the player's file-saving software, or a combination of security, repair and software updates. Updates are free and automatically sent directly from Apple through iTunes to your iPod shuffle before a sync process starts. Disconnecting iPod Shuffle When the player's light is blinking orange, do not unplug the device from your computer's USB port this will stop the update process and possible corrupt the device's internal hard drive. Let the update process and sync process finish before clicking "Eject" within iTunes and removing the player. Disk Use Enabled If you use your iPod Shuffle as a flash drive and not as a music player, a blinking orange light means that the device is connected to your computer and ready to accept files. The "Disk Use" enabled setting is changeable within iTunes if you decide to use your iPod Shuffle for music storage instead of file storage. When set up as a flash drive, the iPod Shuffle is assigned a drive letter by your computer's operating system and the drive lets you "drag and drop" files to the device. b> Charging If your iPod shuffle's battery is completely depleted or low on charge, connect the player to your computer immediately for charging then leave it connected to receive any updates to the device's software and internal components. Its indicator light may or may not blink orange until after it is fully charged. If the battery is low on charge or completely depleted, you may receive an error stating that the iPod is corrupt or needs restoring, close the error message and let the device fully charge.

New ipod shuffle just flashes orange light in the dock

Hi pa86,

If the light just flashes Orange when connected it means that it is trying to sync to iTunes. This is normal. If it continues to flash for an extraordinary amount of time then there is a problem with the Shuffle. The best thing to do is reset and restore the Shuffle. Refer to page 23 of the Shuffle Manual.

All the best

New Ipod Shuffle is not loading songs

Hi,
Generally you do not have to change the drive letter. There is a 'shuffle restore' program from Apple that you can download for free. Using this to restore your iPod will set it back to factory conditions. Do you have the latest version of iTunes on your computer? If not, you might want to try that also. Have you tried dragging your playlist into the Shuffle? I find that it helps with my shuffle to create playlists and have it fill out of them. That way I can change the playlist every day. Works for me. Hope that helps.

CLARIFICATION

Set your computer up so that you & your brother have different user accounts on your computer. This can be done via parental controls in windows Vista & xp (parental controls> create user). Once you do that, download the most recent itunes. You'll see itunes on both user accounts

Be sure to back up your music or you'll both have to create new libraries. When you sync your ipods, itunes will automatically recognizw which model ipod you have & update the software accordingly. I have my wife, both kids & I have all our ipods synced on 1 computer this way (Gen 3 30 gig, 2 gen 2 nanos, & a shuffle).

IPOD Shuffle (the tiny silver one) won't charge

Is the IPod able to be recognized on the computer? If not, you could try the 5 R's,

Reset
Retry
Restart
Reinstall
Restore

You could also try to restore the ipod back to factory defaults and see if that would help
