The power funtion drive on my Invacare Storm TDX 5 wheelchair, which operates the tilt, recline, elevating leg rest and seat elevator has stopped working. The drive switch as it appears on the LED screen goes from drive #1 to #2, skips # 3, then to #4. Is it possible to reprogram the joystick controller to use drive #4 as the power function driver? The power function drive stopped working when the seat was elevated. So, instead of falling down and couldn't get up, I go up but couldn't get down! :0 Also, can the seat be lowered manually? Sincerely, Jeff

1) Yes your power seat functions can be programed into your drive 4,You'll need a programmer or have to take it into a shop.
2) yes the chair can be manually elevated down,You'll want to take it to a shop for that ,because it requires jumping the power to the seat elevator and swapping the wires around and I would never recommend my customers to do such a thing because of electric shock or burning up the chair.

If your chair has a four wat toggle switch("what controls your power seat functions elev, recl, telt, ext) If thats what your using right now there may be a red light that comes on in drive lock out ,If that light is not on follow that wire all the way down it may have been pinched or cut.If so it will need to be replaced.

Problems like this one is hard to trouble shoot over text or phone ,if your four way switch cord is cut or smashed .Your gunna have to take it into a shop just to make sure ,It didnt cause any electrical problems in your chair .

Good luck hope i had the chair in front of me so i could help you more.

How much a switch model MKVI 1089384?

This part is for an Invacare power wheelchair with TRSS. This is a tilt and or recline single switch for actuator control. A search on the Invacare website shows an active part number and no price. A search of e_bay shows pricing between 50 and 150 dollars. This switch is easy to replace. plug the black "Lego " block into the power source, the 2 pin Anderson plug into the actuator and the Molex into the limit switch. You may need to switch the plug polarity of the 2 pin output to the actuator to get it to go in the right direction. The part was used on MkIV and MkV and some MKVI systems and should be readily available on line. Hope this helps.

My son has a invacare chair should go 6 mph but has slowed to a snails crawl. How Can I speed it back up?

The chair may be in what they call SLOW MODE or the batteries are weak. If you have powered seating on the chair the seat has sensors that make the chair drive slow or not drive at all when the seat is tilted or reclined or raised. A sensor can go bad or get out of position. The joystick could have different programming for different drive modes. Try changing drive modes.

Troubleshooting an invacare tdx sp electric wheelchair

Behind the drive wheels is a selenoid that has a flip up for "PUSH" and flip down for "DRIVE", make sure they are both in "DRIVE". That's what worked for me.

Invacare TDX SR

I live in Sonora, Ca. and am looking for a place to get my TDX SP chair fixed. It need some new leg rest that don't kill my legs 5 mins after I set down. Something on the back of my chair is broken where it attaches to my back plate. and a few more things. I tried a place in Modesto, CA and they stink!!! Over charged me, asked for the money upfront before my inc. had a chance to make good on it, and then it took them 6 full months to refund my money that was over the copay I have to pay with my blue cross inc. Please tell me a place I can get some work done, my chair cost over $6,000 and It has served me will, but I need to take care of it.

Help I stupidly got my dog lead caught around the left drive wheel of my M61 Pronto yesterday. A kind person got it unwound but needed to tip the chair on its side to do it. Now the far left single green...

The M61 has an elevating seat. There is a speed limit switch which consists of 2 magnets that make contact under the seat on the seat post. If the 2 magnets are together then the chair thinks the seat is all the way down. If the magnets aren't touching it activates a safety feature in the controls which cuts power to the chair by 50% hence drives real slow. Try lowering the elevating seat down through the joystick controls. If that doesn't fix it then either the magnet switches on the seat post came unplugged or broke.

The legs supports are fixed and are in a down position... I have need for a raised leg support on right leg

The elevating Legrest for the right leg is available from The Aftermarket Group. com. This company is owned by Invacare and sells to the retail customer. Once you are on the website click on wheelchair parts, front rigging, Legrest assemblies:
Scroll down to Invacare Patriot 18" to 20" wide, RP 151009 , Legrest assembly, cam lock, black padded calf pad, heel loop, right. Confirm from the picture and description that this is what you want and order it. There is a handle at the pivot shown in the picture to adjust the angle up or down on the elevation. There is tool free adjuster for your leg length. Hope this helps.
