I have a desk top and a laptop. the desk top did not have wifi so i purchased a net gear wireless g usb adapter and a cisco linksys e 3000 wirless router i can get the wifi on the lap top to detect the cisco router and shows an excellent signal but i can not get the intranet to connect any suggestions

You cannot use it for your ASUS tablet, but you do not need to because your tablet has WiFi capability built in. Probably you can use that adapter only with a regular computer (where you have a CD), most likely a desktop, because all laptops have WiFi capability built in.
