When a monitor displays "Input not supported", the display resolution is set too high. To resolve this, change the resolution to a supported resolution of the monitor. What you can do is restart your computer to safe mode first. These are the steps going into safe mode:

1. Make sure your computer is off.

2. Turn on computer then tap F8 repeatedly once per second. Similarly, Windows advanced options menu should be up on you screen.

3. use arrow keys to highlight "safe mode".

4. press enter twice.

5. log on to your user profile

6. you will get a window asking you to press "yes" or "no". CLICK the YES button.

7. perform the next steps below according to your windows version (operating system)

In Windows XP

  1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Appearance and Themes, and then click Display.
  2. On the Settings tab, under Screen resolution, drag the slider to the desired resolution and click Apply.
  3. When prompted to apply the settings, click OK. The screen will turn black for a moment.
  4. Once the screen resolution changes, confirm the change by selecting Yes. A timer will count down for 15 seconds to ensure the change is desired.
Click Yes to confirm the change; click No or do nothing to revert to the previous setting.

In Windows Vista
  1. Press the Start button , select Control Panel, select Appearance and Personalization, select Personalization, and then Display Settings.
  2. Under Resolution, move the slider to the desired resolution and click Apply.
NOTE: For Windows 7, it should be similar to the steps for Windows Vista.

Blinking, can't be on/off

Most common failure in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, falied inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed Acer and other monitors to get some ideas what goes wrong: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further.

Hi There! My Acer x223w monitor is floating a "Input Not Supported" box that will not go away any suggestions?

The documentation for this monitor should list its supported resolutions, and you will need to attach another monitor that supports a greater (possibly lower or higher) range of resolutions and then set it to one of the supported resolutions for the monitor. The native resolution appears to be 1680x1050, although I cannot find online documentation directly from Acer.
