Remove dispenser & filter from top of agitator. Down the bottom of the center of the agitator you will find a plastic cover. Pull this out with a bent piece of wire formed into a hook. Under the cover is a 10mm hexagonal head bolt. Using a long extension & 100mm socket you can undo it to remove agitator.

How do I remove the agitator from an old Hoover 2315L?

Agitator itself just slides on splined shaft. At that age it's undoubtedly "growed" on there and isn't going to be easy to pull in all likelihood. Brute force and awkwardness are about the only tools as it's rarely possible to get any leverage in any place that will do any good and the edge of the agitator itself away from the center is generally to weak to use as a pry point, anyway. Some have a removable cap at the top that can either be unscrewed or pried out depending on the make/model -- if so, you can sometimes from that point actually see the splined shaft and get some solvent down there to help. Unfortunately, ime, the "goop" has always signified a transmission shaft seal failure and nothing less than replacing that seal will solve the problem

3. Pivot off bottom plate making sure to unhook center tab on inside edge of nozzle.

4. Remove agitator and used belt from nozzle.

5. Put new belt on agitator. Position agitator in nozzle orienting agitator end caps with slots on both sides of nozzle. The belt should line up with tab on inside of nozzle.

How do i change a drum paddle in my hoover HNWL 7166 washer dryer

There's a screw holding each paddle in place, as well as the lugs on the paddle. You can get to the screw by removing the drain hose from the bottom on the drum, and the paddle will then be free to slide out

Describe how to replace belt on hoover windtunnel bagless

If you turn the vacuum so the bottom is facing up you will see the base plate that covers the roller brush. There will be four screws (usually phillips head), remove the screws and the base plate will lift off. You now have access to the roller brush and belt. Lift the roller brush up and remove the old belt. Place one end of the new belt over the motor shaft and the other end over the roller brush and put the roller brush back in place. Now simply replace the base plate and you're done! This models requires Hoover belt # 38528033 (single) or Hoover belt #40201160 (2 pack). You can get this belt at www.vacbelts.com.

Hoover wind tunnel 2 bagless vacuum not working

Place handle in low position and turn cleaner over so bottom side is up.
Remove the 4 screws in bottom plate and lift off.
Look on the left side of the agitator brush. You should see the belt there. Remove agitator brush roll and used belt.
Discard belt.
With lettering on outside of belt, slide new belt over motor pulley.
Insert agitator though belt and place belt in belt guide on agitator.
Grasp agitator firmly and fit it onto position by first sliding end opposite the belt into the rectangular slot on side of cleaner.Pull other side of agitator into place
Turn agitator making sure belt is not pinched between agitator and agitator shield.
If this does not take care of your problem, then check your filters for dirt and your entire vacuum for blockages. Both filters do come out. If you can't get a new filter right away you can gently clean the paper filter and remove a lot of dirt. (I recommend outside)! The other filter is washable.
Make sure it is well dried before replacing.
Good luck.

How can I remove the agitator on a premier 510 model

Hi,
Before removing the agitator, unplug the washer to avoid an electrical shock hazard.
The agitator is fastened to the agitator shaft and its movement is driven either by splines or a simple clutch assembly. The splines are usually plastic or rubber nubs on a cylinder that fits over the agitator shaft. If the nubs wear down, the shaft will not turn properly or it will turn weakly. If the agitator is moving in only one direction, the likely cause is the clutch assembly. The clutch has dogs that depress and pop up with each turn. If those dogs are worn, they will not engage properly and the agitator will turn only in one direction.
Various makes and models differ in how the agitator is removed. In some newer models, the agitator just lifts straight up and out. However, in most models you will have to do some combination of the following steps. First remove the fabric softener dispenser, if any. It should either lift or screw off. Next remove the cap. It may lift off, screw off or failing that, it may need to be pried off.
Beneath the cap some agitators are secured in place by a bolt. Use a socket wrench with an extension to remove that bolt. Some washers may have a screw near to the bottom of the agitator post that must be removed. Now try to lift the agitator straight up, possibly with a little back and forth rocking motion. Use caution when pulling, the agitator may come loose suddenly and hit you in the face or send you flying backward.
If the agitator is particularly stubborn, you can loop some rope under one side of the agitator at the bottom and then up over a broom handle. Now loop it again under the other side of the agitator and back up to the broom. Brace one end of the broom handle against the top of the washer and lift up on the other end. Double check that you have removed anything that may be securing the agitator in place. Do not use too much force or you may damage the washer cabinet, agitator or injure yourself.

Object caught beneath the adigator

Remove the fabric softener by pulling and pushing to one side.
Once removed, there will be a half inch bolt that holds the agitator to the transmission shaft. Loosen the bolt and the agitator will lift off.
Older Hoovers have a set screw near the middle of the agitator.

If you need further assistance, let me know

Need help with my Hoover Savvy U8172-900 -- agitator does not spin when on

You probably jammed the roller brush and the gears on the motor stripped the teeth out of the drive belt.  You have to take the bottom and the top covers off the lower unit to replace the belt.  There is a hidden screw that keeps you from taking off the top, thus creates work for authorized Hoover repair shops.  You'll find that screw under the round red label in the center of the top of the lower section.  Peel it up and there is the screw.
