I dropped my iphone 35 in a toliet 2 days after i got it, and i put it in rice over night, all the water was dried out and everything worked perfectly besides the camera, it stays on the shutter scream, i have been reading on websites that it has something to do with the hardware. I bought this phone used so i cant take it to the apple store and get it replaced. And im scared to take my iphone apart because i know after i take it apart i wont get it together. any other sugestions ?

open it up and take out the battery then put it in a plastic bag of dry rice seal it up. This works to dry the unit out. u may have to leave it in bag for a couple days. My son dropped my iphone in a sink of water and would not work I put it in rice for 3 days and now it works fine.
try putting it in a bag of dry rice for a few days. it will take the water out of phone. remove the battery if u can. my son dropped my new iphone in water and this fixed it
I've done the same thing. The problem is that at the base of the phone is the microphone... It has a physical connection to the circuit boards analog-to-digital converter (your voice, analog, to digital, so it can send it over the wire).
Something has shorted out, or been damaged... Assuming you've given the device ample time to dry (3-4 days, best if left in RICE (yes RICE) in a bag)... and that it was clean water (no soap/salt/etc..) it may dry out and fix.
If said time has gone by, you need to take it to a local repair shop and have the microphone module replaced. This will often cost between $70-140 dollars. (I'm sorry for your loss).
You should probably wait for a few days to ensure it's completely dry on the inside. I have heard other folks suggest that putting the phone in a bowl of white rice for a few days is a great way to dry it out. The rice will absorb the moisture.
Did the case cover the entire phone or just the sides and back like most?
useually unrepairable but take the back off then remove battery and sim then use a hair dryer to try and dry out the moisture sometimes it works depends on how much water damage is in the main board
****... i know this is late but if your phone ever gets dropped in water, quickly turn the phone off, take the phone apart (battery, and sim card), and put it on a bed of rice, and pour a lil more rice on top of the phone as well. I did this and left it over night and my phone was fine! I know this sounds retarded but it works! RICE DISSOLVES WATER! GOOD LUCK
take the sim card holder out and blow dry inside the phone for about 10-15 minutes. after that take your phone and put it in a ziploc bag of rice for about 2-3 days. after that your phone should work. i dropped my phone in mop water a few days ago and this worked for me. if you have any other questions or anything email me. [email protected]. good luck and hope this helps.
The Apple Store does not touch these phones, they ship it directly back to Apple to replace. The rice in bag trick is generally a good idea with the exception that the iphone doesnt have a removal battery which hinders the effectiveness. But if you want to go the free route, leave your iphone in rice for a couple days.
