Hi,how can I calculate median using fx-570es plus?

The median is the number is the middle.

Using the calculator, you can follow the Statistical Calculations (Stat) on pages 22 and 23 of the attached manual. http://support.casio.com/pdf/004/fx-570_991ES_PLUS_E.pdf

However, it might be quicker to just put the numbers is order from lowest to highest and pick out the number in the middle.

For example, take the numbers 3, 5, 4, 7, 6, 4, 9.

Putting them in order, we get 3, 4, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9

There are 7 numbers so we want the 4th number (3 numbers to the right and 3 numbers to the left). In this case, the 4th number is 5 and that is our median, as half the numbers are lower than it and half the numbers are higher than it. It the number of numbers is even, you take the average of the two middle numbers.

Good luck,

Paul

Get the Plus. It adds a few functions, takes nothing away, and is the same price at most vendors.

Hi there. I'm using Casio FX-570ES scientific calculator. I would be glad if you could guide me as to how to obtain derivative of a polynomial expression e.g. y=12(x^2+6)^5

Here is an example. Instead of SIN(X) insert your polynomials.

The syntax of the command is
4aa123f.jpg
where function is the expression you are differentiating
x is the value of variable x at which you are evaluating the derivative, and tol is the tolerance (the error) you are willing to tolerate in the result.

If you do not want to specify a tolerance just omit the last comma and tol.

To enter the command d/dx you use key sequence [SHIFT][Integral]
To enter the symbol x in the expression you press [ALPHA][ ) ]
To enter a comma you use [SHIFT] [ ) ]
To enter a power of 10 in the tolerance use [x10^X] key

Example : Calculate
18c49ac.jpg
The key sequence is as follows
[SHIFT] [Integral] 3 [ALPHA] [ ) ] [X^2] [-] 5 [ALPHA] [ ) ] +2 [SHIFT] [ ) ] 2 [SHIFT] [ ) ] 1 [x10^X] [(-)] 12 ) [=]

DO NOT confuse [SHIFT] [ ) ] which enters the comma and [ALPHA] [ ) ] which enters the variable X.

How to get the Z normal distribution values?

Note that this I'm using a Casio fx-991MS calculator.

I'm also assuming you're asking about the z value i.e. P(t)

You first need to go to SD mode, which is done by pressing Mode button twice where you'll get the choices as follows:
SD REG BASE
1 2 3
Press Numeral 1. you should see a small sd icon on the top of the display after you press 1.

Now enter Shift key + '3' i.e. Shift + DISTR and you'll get the options as follows:

P( Q( R( t->
1 2 3 4

Choose whichever is required.
Hope this is what you were asking about.

If you choose Cpd : you must enter the Chi value you want, and press EXE, then the number of degrees of freedom (df) and press EXE. The Execute command is highlighted. This allows you to perform the actions
indicated by the Thumbnails at the bottom of the screen: calculate a value or Draw the distribution.

In the example above I took Chi=1, and df=3 and pressed the CALC menu.

If I press the DRAW menu instead, the distribution is displayed.
