No Stereo & center sound together in CD mode or TV mode
In Video (TV) mode, cannot get stereo speakers and center speakers to work together. Either Center will work alone or stereo speakers will work alone. In DVD Video mode, everything works together.

LG 141K TX) Manual Online: Tv Speaker, Stereo/dual Reception, Nicam ... Stereo. Dual. Mono Sound Selection. In stereo reception if the stereo signal is weak, ...
If you are playing a source that is Stereo such as FM Radio or a CD the sound will not use all 5.1 speakers unless you enable the correct Surround Mode. On the remote there is a button on the lower right of the remote that says SURROUND. You can toggle through the various surround modes with this button the mode you want is Dolby Pro Logic The Pro Logic mode uses the built-in circuit to steer the Left, Center, Right and Mono Surround channel audio signals and uses all five speakers to play both stereo and Dolby Pro Logic program source, such as TV and VCR. You can use this mode with any stereo program source (such as VCR/TV) to enjoy multi-channel sound experience.
Unless the CD has DSP encoded sound, you will only get the usual CD stereo (2 speaker) sound, unless your receiver is able to apply DSP FX to a stereo source.
sounds like you need to surround modes. There is usually a Stereo, Dolby, DTS, "virtual surround", 4-speaker mode etc.. When you play a CD or connect to TV it likely defaults to playing stereo or virtual surround.
With real surround, almost all of the voices are coming from the center-channel speaker (normally placed closest to the TV).
Also, check to make sure the center channel is connected properly.
The surround processing portion of the unit has a problem. In either stereo or direct mode, the digital procesing is bypassed. This could be just the surround processing IC, but that IC may not be available as a separate part. I would suggest that you bring this unit to an authorized Onkyo service center for an estimate.
all your speaker channels are working so your problem lies with a setup fault. when you watch tv you are only feeding a stereo signal into the amp. you need to select the internal surround sound generator. you need to select either the movie or surround function. the unit will convert the stereo signal to 5.1 channel surround.
