Scanning lines

Check this link for a bit of info about the scanner. http://www.hwkb.com/Uwe/Forum.aspx/scanner/973/Heidelberg-Linoscan-1450-sparepart-and-driver-for-Windows I agree: Heidelberg no longer support the model so you will have a lot of trouble finding spares - I searched a lot and the only place you can find these now seems to be e-bay. I would be tempted to say get a new scanner, but it is just possible that replacing the lamp if you could get one or cleaning the inside may help, but a scanner usually only has a few years life in it. Just possible the lamp is standard, if you can get to it and get a part number from it, perhaps we could find one online. Hope this helps :)

How to insert the code for the radio of my golf3 /1996

ENTERING SECURITY CODE

Most vehicles are equipped with Heidelberg V or VI radios that are equipped with a theft protection program. When the battery has been is disconnected or if the radio has been removed, the radio will lock-up electronically and cannot be operated until the security code is entered. On the Heidelberg V, if the proper code is not entered in six attempts, the radio will lock-up permanently and cannot be repaired. On the Heidelberg VI, two incorrect attempts will lock the radio for about 1 hour.
The Heidelberg V may have a code assigned at the factory or a personal code created by the owner. The Hiedelberg VI has a code assigned at the factory and entered by the dealer during pre-delivery inspection. New radios come with the code printed on a sticker but not entered into memory. All codes are 4 digits. To code the radio:
Heidelberg V

  1. Turn the radio ON . The radio should display the word SAF. DO NOT attempt to eject a cassette with the radio in this mode.
  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear for about 3 seconds, then the display will go blank. Release the buttons then.

NOTE If the buttons are held too long, the radio will interpret this as an attempt to enter an incorrect code.
  1. Use the first four station selector buttons to enter the code. The first digit of the code is always 1. Each time the other buttons are pushed, the number in that position will change.
  2. When the code appears correctly in the display, push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time. When the radio plays and displays a frequency, release the buttons.
  3. If the code was entered incorrectly three times, momentarily disconnect the battery and try again. If the code is entered incorrectly three more times, the radio cannot be coded and cannot be repaired.

Heidelberg VI

  2. Push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time and hold them until the display changes, then release them immediately. The number 1000 will appear and remain in the display.

  2. When the code appears correctly in the display, push the AM/FM and SCAN buttons at the same time. When SAF appears in the display, release the buttons. The radio should play and display a frequency.
  3. If the code was entered incorrectly two times, leave the radio ON for one hour and try again. This can be repeated as often as required.

I Have a Maytag MAH7500AWW one of the MOV component on the mother board burned and the machine does'nt work anymore. I'm looking for the replacement piece but nobody has it around here, they all told me...

An MOV is a "metal oxide varistor". This is a very common heart of a surge suppressor, which can be used "across the line wires" to prevent harmful voltage spikes from adversely affecting equipment. Most of the time however, an MOV will sit idle in a circuit for years, then one day, it gives its life blocking a voltage spike. You use the equipment the next day like nothing happened. Everything works fine - until the next voltage spike.

Your MOV has already activated, and is no longer able to provide the protection it once had. As a result, the next voltage spike passes unobstructed by the failed MOV into the circuit ruining the circuit.

The problem is that the MOV never told you it failed. Many times, a number of MOVs are installed all at once - each one fails at each subsequent voltage spike. It could take years, decades or more before the last MOV fails - likely long after the warranty is over.

You can probably see that the failed 50 cent MOV isn't the problem any more. It was *before* the circuit failed, but you never knew it had failed. Now, the latest voltage spike fried the circuit and it will require wholesale circuit board replacement or labor intensive troubleshooting to locate and replace all the failed parts on the circuit board.

You're better off buying a used board or an entire used machine until you can fix this one.

I hope this helped you understand about MOVs, and that replacing this part will not restore the machine to working order.

My Blaupunkt, Heidelberg CD51 car stereo beeps every minute or so, whether you're listening to the radio or CD's? - HELP please

That normally means that it requires the  security code to be entered.

Disconnect the fuse for 10 minutes, replace then enter the code.

If you do not have the code then the radio will have to be removed from the dashboard and quote all the letters+numbers on any labels, barcodes or stamped in the metal casing.

Also quote the make of car it is fitted into.
