What was the voltage rating and the Current rating of the older fuse? And which fuse is it? THe main fuse or one of the pico fuses on the short protect circuit(that some tvs have)
The fuse blowing is triggered by an overload on the 5V standby circuit or one of the higher voltage lines. Do you see any capacitors that are bulged at the top or cracked on the power supply board? Look carefully and let me know what you found.
I am talking about the capacitors . Not the fuse. They are cylindrical in shape and have an X mark at the top or some other kind of stress line(that help them break instead of exploding incase of malfunction). See image below

In that case I would suspect the rectifier circuit or the transformer has shorted windings, which are the two most common causes. How good are your electronics skills? It might just be easier to replace the power supply board. I can find you one for about 40$ on shopjimmy which is approximately what a transformer is gonna cost you(approximately) anyway.

This is an indication that you have a short on the power supply section. It can't be fixed by replacing the fuse alone. I've suspected that you have a short on the following parts : This is the common parts that might be shorted and made the fuse blew. #2-5 is quite technical and need an expert to do the job so I
sir it is not a capacitor alone caused that kind of problem, since the fuse keeps blowing the shorts are mainly on the power supply. It is quite fixable and easy to isolate. Like what i've said "ve suspect the above solution. It is located on the power supply. If you haven't an experience in electronics then find a technician to do the job for you. thanks.

so far there is no solution - the message he gave is not worth any money. If that's the best he/she can do then please refund
It is the main fuse - 4 amp 125 volt fuse
It is the main fuse - 4 amp 125 Volt. It is the only one I see and it keeps blowing.
Checked, rechecked and rechecked - found NO swelling or cracking on any capacitors
Thanks for the images but checked and rechecked - no bulges or cracks
Have checked and rechecked but see no bulges or cracks. I must leave now and will contact you again tomorrow. Appreciate your help so far. Thank-you
Thank you for your assistance - I appreciate it. I'll throw the tv away as there is no recycling facility here.
